Location: TEXAS | I have dark vinyl flooring that looks like hard wood floors and I desperately need a robot vacuum but can't trust anything I read on the internet about them. Does anyone use one that could give suggestions? |

| We have a Roomba - cheaper model. It works WONDERS EXCEPT it doesn't always dock itself. Sometimes, I'll come home and have to search for it, find it in the middle of a room, dead. Ours wasn't a ton of money $300 or so, doesn't work off my phone and all that stuff, but it runs for about 2 hours every morning while we're at work and it is FULL every day - we have a HAIRY Blue Heeler in the house.
We still run the regular sweeper once a week but the Roomba sure helps in between - it also goes under the bed and places you hardly ever vacuum. |

| Had one and sold it. We kept forgetting to pick up so it could run. It got stick on things. We have dogs in the house and it became an issue with their toys getting stuck in it or them getting caught up on one. Bought the Dyson animal, super light and quick/easy to use. |

Location: North Dakota | I don't have one but a friend of mine has one and she has it synced with her amazon dot (alexa) and the other day when I was over there all she did was say "alexa, ask roboto to start cleaning" (yes she named it lol) and it left it's dock and started zooming around. It was pretty cool haha. |

Location: SW North Dakota | I have the $700 Roomba and I wish I'd have saved my money. Here's why: We have corgis and cats. Although it does do a great job with dust bunnies and hair, I have dark, hand hewn hardwood floors and it leaves a trail in the dust whereever it goes. Especially in the winter, when its dry and the furnace runs... gets pretty dusty in the house. Mine gets stuck on the top of the steps, so even though it's programmed to run when I'm not home, it might only make a pass before it gets stuck behind a door or on the steps. I try to remember to shut the door to my daughter's room, but it also chokes on socks. So usually, I have to do search and rescue on Ruby every time she runs. You also have to be religous about cleaning them- especially if you have pets. This isn't hard and I'd be happy to bathe Ruby if she'd just do her **** job. She'd been grounded for the last few months. Ol Hag.

Location: Texas | I have a Roomba and I chose to get one that was a little more expensive than the lower models that Roomba offers because I needed one that would really get dog hair and after doing days of research it seemed to be a better option for my family. I am very happy I got it. Does it take place of an actual deep cleaning no, but do I have to sweep everyday if I run it, no. So yes I am very happy with it. I am amazed that it can really get as much dog hair as it does and it really does make my life so much easier lol Mine will get stuck every now and then under my husbands recliner but its very rarely and once in a while it will not dock properly but its rare as well. I can say that the pros outweigh the cons.
I highly recommend getting one!!!

Location: Gainesville, TX | We have a dog that sheds a ton. We tried one and had vinyl floors. I swept after it was done (I even let it go several times). The amount of stuff I still swept up (not moving furniture or anything) was still pretty huge, mostly dog hair. I sold it on ebay. |

Location: Duvall, WA | I got one on Amazon Prime day last year, the cheapest one available, a Eufy for about $199. All the reviews were great, and I have to say I absolutely love it. Could be one of my all time favorite items. My floors are soooooo clean now, it is wonderful. I don't think it would be great if you expected it to work perfectly while you are gone, as I do have to rescue it regularly, but it still does an amazing job. Could not live without it now. |

Location: Armuchee, GA, NW section of Ga | My DH bought me one. I love it but it seems to get stuck under the low cabinets often. With two long haired cats, the fur gets to be too much. I usually run it one or twice a week. Also, get the extra round abouts to avoid certain areas, like the cat food/water. |

Location: South Georgia | We have a Neato Botvac and we love it. It is superior to the Roombas in that it scans each room with its laser and vacuums in a grid so every inch is vacuumed and you have nice neat lines. Also, it holds a charge for quite some time. If the battery gets low, it returns to its base and then once fully charged again, goes back to where it left off. It takes it about 3 hours to do our 2200 square feet. We have a mix of hardwood, rugs, and carpet. She handles them all beautifully. It is scheduled to run 3 days a week while we are at work. They are $400, but with a Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off coupon, just $300. Best money we ever spent. Roomba advertises a lot more, so most people don't hear about the Neato, but it is far better. Our friends with a Roomba have since switched to a Neato after seeing ours. |

Location: North Dakota | I have a Roomba and I love it. We have darker-ish floors and a yellow lab. I believe we have the 880 model (it was second from the "top").
Yes, you do have to have things picked up off the floor. With a toddler and a dog, it's doable. I just clean up the night before after she's in bed, and then there's very little to do in the morning. I have it programmed to run during the day while we are all gone.
I have learned that it doesn't have enough battery to do the whole house at once. So I usually just close all the bedroom doors in the morning. If I want it to do a certain bedroom, I'll leave that door open for the day. But my main concern is the main living area anyway, so that's where I have it docked so it cleans that first.
Once in a while, we come home to it "stuck" in random places. But it's not a huge problem. I clean it good about once a month or so, and replace the filter/brush when needed. (replacement parts were cheap on Amazon)
With the Roomba running every day, I usually don't have to vacuum at all myself. In my opinion, that's pretty good for having a toddler and a dog in the house and well worth the money spent!! |

Location: LA Lower Alabama | We had a cheap rumba many years ago that went on tile then climbed a strip and went onto the wood floor and lower napped carpet. We think the strip did it in because for years it was awesome then one day it clunked. Like every few inches it made a clunking noise then errored out. Turns out googling the error showed that was an issue with that line or roomba but we still think it was climbing that strip that truthfully did it in. I say get one though! |

| I really like ours. It is an off-brand that was cheaper. I run it when I am cooking, so I can keep an eye out for it to get stuck or not be able to dock, like others have mentioned, but that all doesn't bother me. I also sweep my (laminate) floors about once a week, but the vacuum really seems to help keep it picked up during the time in-between. |

| I have the Bissel robot vacuum, I just got it at walmart ~$200. Best money I have ever spent! I have all wood floors that are super dark walnut and show EVERYTHING and 2 indoor cats, a mostly white border collie who sheds like you wouldn't believe, a german shorthair, 3 kids, and a ferret. Believe me when I say it gets put to the test every day. I have it set to run daily on a timer and I love it so much! It picks up all of the pet hair and random other things that get tracked in from the yard and barn, and all I have to do is empty the little bin which takes about 15 seconds. It's only gotten stuck once and that was on a washcloth the cat drug out of the laundry. I will say I have a pretty strict rule on people not leaving their crap all over the house so all I do is take a quick glance at the floors and I'm usually pretty good to let it just run but if you have socks and things laying out they will have to be picked up or it will get stuck trying to eat them. I haven't had it try to eat my cat and dog toys (mostly little catnip mice cause everybody at my house loves them!) if it does run into them it just backs off and goes a different direction. It does vacuum on a random pattern, which really annoys some people but because I run it daily I don't really worry about it. If it misses a small spot today it'll get it tomorrow and I just don't care that much. My floors look better than when my teenagers sweep it so I consider that a win! |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | I have one of the cheaper models from Roomba. I guess for what it is it does ok. But definitely not wowed by it. It gets sand and dirt the dogs bring in but doesn’t pick up black lab hair and can’t ever just turn it on and let it go because it always gets stuck under out entertainkent center or recliner. Also I started picking it up and putting it where I wanted it to clean because it seemed like it always started in one area of the house and stayed there. I decided I would just rather vacuum. I have a tiny house so it doesn’t take long if I could just find a hard floor vacuum that was worth anything. I’m on my 3rd and nothing so far picks up black lab hair. |

Have you tried a shark rotator pro? I have one and I’m hard on vacuums. It’s great! It it the lift away model that I can used the brush roller head for carpet and the wand/hose head attachment for wood floors. |

Location: Blissfully happy Giants fan!!! | So we have had a cheap model and now we have the Roomba that self docks, self cleans, runs on the app, etc. The cheap model was fine-not smart AT ALL- but it died on us so we had to upgrade. The Roomba now we got at costco. The first one was a lemon-kept forgetting its settings. Costco took it back after like 3 months no questions asked. The 2nd one is fine. We have an almost 5,000 sqft house and it needs to clean about 3500 of it. All hardwood floors and I have 5 dogs. Setting it up is the important part. It will map your entire house and then you make sure you set where you want it to go first, where it shouldn't go, etc. It gets stuck every once in a while but it is not all of the time. It can't do our entire house at once. It gets about 2/3 done and then has to go clean itself and charge then it goes again. I don't have time to clean my house all of the time and with 5 dogs, this is a life saver. It gets most of the hair and dust and that is good enough for me. Worth the money IMO. BTW, I really want the one that also mops but I need a few more generations of it to come through before we splurge on it. |
