We're considering using a shipping container to have an enclosed tack and feed room for our barn when we build. Anyone have experiences with them? Did you do a special foundation or have any issues with them?

My husband has one at his shop to store tools, motor parts in super handy to have. But for a tack and feed room make sure you get some windows put in for air flow. I have seen where some people make a small house and office's out of them, really cool. There's a few places you can buy the
container's with windows already in stalled.

Where do you live? We have one that was on our property when we bought it and we want it gone, free to anyone who will come and get it. The doors on ours are a pain to open.

We have had one for a few years now that we use for all our hay storage. By not keeping hay in the barn, therefore not a fire risk, our insurance is cheaper. I fill it up each year with baled hay, no problems at all.

My mom uses a big one for hay storage away from her barn.
My inlaws have a smaller one that they use for a tack and feed room next to their small barn.
They both seem to work great. I believe both are just up on cinderblocks.
