What kind of back does a Corriente fit? Any luck with a moderately high withered horse or better for flat back?

I would just call the company and see which tree would work best.

I believe they only have the one. No option for tree size.

I think this is a very debatable question. My Corriente fits a high withered TB and my round cow horses. They all come with the same tree 7" gullet.

iv heard the opposite from others but iv seen Sara Rose McDonald throw her Corriente on different style backs of horses...... maybe its all in the pad?

I have two Corriente’s and just ordered another. I’ve never had a saddle fit such a variety of horses. They fit my flat backed, barrel bodied, low withered mare. My 16.3 hand, slender, high withered, race built gelding. My stocky, high withered gelding.

My friend has a gelding that could pass for a draft horse, as wide as he is tall, and they fit him as well.

I love my Corrientes.

This is me and I would order another in a heart beat! I ride small framed race bred 2 year olds to stocky roping horses in mine

My daughters father just ordered her a custom ranch cutter from corriente. I'll admit, it's a beautiful saddle. I've had 2 corriente and she had 1 also when she was younger. I loved those saddles. I now ride in a double J but when I'm ready to order me a barrel saddle, I'm going for a corriente again. They fit everything i put it on. This is the saddle my daughter is waiting for. She upgraded the conchos and had lettering done on the cantle.

I have one that I love truly fits a horse really nice and i've spent a bajillion dollars on every high end saddle out there over the years.  Mine appears to sit a little deeper with more dish to the seat than some of the others i've seen and sat in.  Mine also has a tooled horn cap with rawhide binding around the front of it, but is mostly roughout with a hard seat....only tooling is on the pommel and cheyenne roll.  I called to order another and wanted to be sure those few things I really love about mine I could get duplicated, the dish, groundseat, and horn.  The lady I spoke with told me that she couldn't guarantee those things and that she had serious concerns about building me a saddle due to how specifically I expected it to ride and the minute details I was wanting.  She told me that she was not comfortable building me another saddle and would write in red on my receipt NO RETURNS WHATSOEVER, so I passed on having another made.  The few things I was asking for should be very simple for any saddle maker to duplicate,  but they weren't willing to try, even with me offering to pay an upgrade fee to be sure I got those things.  She said that all of those details are strictly up to whomever they have build the saddle.  I offered to pay more to ensure the same guy built the new one as built my old one, but still it was a no.  I did have them build me a set of custom conchos, and they came out nice.  I was just really disappointed that I couldn't get another like the one I have, as I really do love it.  So I guess you can get any custom aesthetics you want, but as far as the ride and the details like I wanted, you're at the mercy of whichever builder they give your order to.  I'm more concerned with the ride and how it sits than what it looks like, so I had to pass on building one given their resistance and concern in duplicating those things.  :(

I will say I have an "old style" 2015 15" trophy saddle from them I refuse to ride in. Padded seat on it and it is just the most uncomfortable saddle I've ever been in. Throws me forward and feels like it has the most shallow seat ever. It sits covered in the barn because it's fully tooled. I did win another last year and got it in December, and it's a complete difference. 14.5" "New Style" 45 degree skirt with a pencil roll cantle and hard rough-out seat. Super comfortable, still tosses me forward a little and will pull my legs back, but sits pretty deep. My seat itself seems to sit down IN the saddle, and it flat across the back, but does "scoop" you in. I typically ride in a 15", so the 14.5" is a touch smaller than I'm used to. If I ordered again, I'd probably size up to a 15". I prefer a little more leg room.

I've heard from others as well that each of the Corriente saddles fits differently, so I can see how they don't want to try to duplicate something specific in the way the saddle rides. My new style does seem to dump down on the withers though, and I like it best with a Biofit Fleece pad. Still trying it out on each of my horses, but so far that's the best combo for all of them. #1 is super wide, stocky cowhorse bred, about 15.2 with no withers and a barrel back, my saddles end up on her neck without the Total Saddle Fit cinch. #2 is a short, medium width cowhorse/run bred mare, she's 14.3/15 and has a decent wither, but I still get a lot of saddle rolling with her with most my saddles because she's as round as a barrel through her back, the corriente doesn't roll as bad as some of my other saddles, but isn't great, again have to use my TSF cinch. With both these first two it does seem to rub them a little over the withers. #3 is a OTTB whose about 16.2 with a pretty big shapely wither, and it sits on her best, but I still have to pad her up so it doesn't dump down, and her wither keeps my saddles pretty much in place all the time. She's very in shape and rarely sweats unless it's hot, humid or she's doing hard work, so I haven't really been able to truly observe her sweat pattern under it. Overall if I didn't have other saddle options I could make it work, but it's not my first choice for any of them at this time, which might change if I find the "just right" pad combo with it. It fits them all decently, but with no pad on to just test fit, definitely dumps down too much for my taste.

Side note; I did like my ranch cutter from them, ordered in 2016, pretty sure it's a 15". I can make a run in it on a smooth horse that doesn't bounce much, since it doesn't have a high seat (padded seat and smooth through jockey/fenders), but it seemed to fit my horses pretty well. Just had to pad up the more narrow horses. No pinching with it though. Not as comfortable to sit in as my rough-out hard seat with the straight up pencil roll cantle, but not as bad as the padded barrel saddle.

I have a corriente saddle and love it. My horse is high withered and it works great. Ive heard G bar G saddles are great quality and will custom make saddles unlike corriente.
