Idk. I really like my treeless, it's done wonders for my horses back, but I miss how my stirrups felt in my old treed saddle when they were slightly in front of me. Now when I'm loping or even doing a run my feet stay in the stirrups and they are below me, not behind nor in front. But when I'm trotting I just can't get the hang of it. My stirrups are in the perfect position right now; if I raise them up a hole I'm getting too high out of my saddle, and if I lower them a hole then I have no weight in the stirrups; but whenever I post my stirrups just want to get on the heel of my boot instead of staying at the balls of my feet. I've tried different stirrup lengths (which I just mentioned), putting more weight in my heels, making sure I'm not raising myself too much while posting, but I can't figure it out and I can't fix it.
As a background, I used to ride in a 15" treed saddle that I loved but as my horse got wider it was too narrow for him. I had about two (maybe 3?) Fingers in between my thigh and the swell but I felt like maybe I needed something slightly smaller so when I bought this treeless I just bought it as a 15" but my thighs are always touching the swells. Personal preference but I don't like it. Any help? |
