How difficult would it be to find a horse property within 40 minutes of a Fort Sill entry gate to RENT?

We report to Fort Sill in October and don't want to sell our Missouri property at this time.  Hubby can officially drop his military retirement packet in three years.  So we don't want to sell, then buy, then sell again.  We would prefer to keep what we own, rent in the Lawton area until he retires (it should be our last duty station), then we will sell our MO property and find a retirement property.

I grew up in Lawton and while I don't live in the area anymore, so I don't know what is up for rent, your 40 minute commute willingness should help a lot. I think that if you wanted to be right around Lawton it would be much more difficult. I would start checking out areas such as Elgin, Cache, Duncan, Meers/Medicine park, or Fletcher. I drive by Elgin on my way to Lawton and that area has boomed the last few years.

Shouldn’t be too hard I live like 40 mins north of Lawton but there are places popping up here and there... my advice would be to get with a realtor and just let them know you want to rent and see if they can help you find a horse property to rent they usually get commission from the homeowners or realty management companies for finding customers ...maybe watch Craigslist and classifieds too.. if I hear of anything or see anything I’ll msg ya... good areas around Lawton to check are like Elgin , Marlow, Cache...

I've become somewhat familiar with the surrounding areas.  And I like Duncan and Marlow.  Open to anything in the area though.  I'm just coming up with nothing when I do internet searches.

There aught to be a few around Elgin. Medicine Park area is BEAUTIFUL though! Best bet I've found, is searching for rental/for sale/realestate groups on facebook for those towns or areas you are looking at. When I was done with Immigration and looking at transfering back to Oklahoma, I was still house shopping, and that was the easiest way I found some rentals with horse amenities for the mean time. Good luck!
