Psalm 100:4 Enter His gate with THANKSGIVING: go into His courts with PRAISE..Give THANKS and PRAISE His Name.
When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He instructed them to begin with PRAISE. ' Pray like this: . Our Father in heaven , may Your Name be done on earth , as it is in heaven". Then He moved into requests beginning with " Give us today the food we need and forgive us our sins. Matthew 6:9-12. Why did Jesus use this prayer model? Because it FOCUSES our minds ON Almghty God rather than on our individual concerns. Our circumstances seem less intimidating when we see them THROUGH God's power and presence. As we remember to whom we pray, find courage to pray for and expect big things. If Jesus began His prayers with PRAISE to His Father, then I ought to do the same. It's not a magic formula to get the answers I want. Instead it focuses my thoughts in precisely the right place.
Focusing on PRAISE rather than requests is more difficult than it sounds. Try it! Father God,, guide me today to do all things that will bring glory and honor to You AMEN
For it is WITH God ALL things ARE possible.
