Been there a lot.  One of our favorite places to stay is the Park hotel in downtown.  Bathhouse row is cool, and there are walking trails going up the mountain from downtown that are fun.  Several bars and restaurants down there.  The Pankcake Shop is a must eat for breakfast, and the Savory Pantry next door always has lots of things out to taste test.  There are several wine stores that do taste tour deals.  For seafood, Cajun Broiler or Fisherman's Wharf are both good, but you'll have to drive a bit.  Angels in downtown has good Italian.

I spent several week there on a fire assignment.  Oaklawn is pretty cool.  I liked McClards BBQ a lot.  Also thought Bathhouse Row was pretty neat.  Lots of lakes too!
