| I’m going to list a saddle soon. I’ve seen many scam/horror stories about PayPal disputes being opened after buyer receives saddle, then seller loses money, etc.
What are the best ways to accept payment? |

Location: South Georgia | There are risks associated with every method, besides cash on site. I feel like Paypal is the safest, personally. I have sold some tack and a couple of saddles with no problem, but I am very careful. Always send an invoice to the buyer so that you are protected by Paypal, and be sure the address you ship to is the address on their paypal account. If they do not match, the paypal protection is void.

Location: Southern Indiana | I’ve not had any issues with PayPal. I think you just have to be careful who you sell to. Go with your gut. Things do happen. Just think how much credit card fraud happens everyday, yet you still swipe your card. The only safe method of payment is someone handing you cash. PayPal really is the best option when selling online. |

| I've bought and sold multiple saddles through paypal with no issue, however, i would make sure that you send very descriptive pictures to the buyer, as well as placing "Item in used condition, no refunds, warranty, or returns for ANY reason" in the comments of the invoice.
The most common problem I have seen with people using Paypal to sell is the buyer then uses the "item not as described" dispute and paypal will take all the money plus shipping back out of your account until the dispute is resolved. Putting your terms along with ensuring your pictures are awesome (and keep proof of this through messenger or whatever) will help you if something does happen.

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I had been payed with checks, once I get the check I deposit as soon as possible and when it clears and have money in my checking account that takes about anywhere from 4 to 7 days then I will ship the saddle out..Or I have had them wire the money to my account I have never had a problem with either way. |

| I have heard horror stories with PayPal but I’ve always had good luck.
In addition to the other tips about being descriptive and 100% upfront about condition I always question the buyer if the name on the PayPal account doesn’t match the name of the person I’m dealing with.
At the end of the day - use your gut. I’m not afraid to ask someone if they are 18 and if they aren’t ask they have a parent contact me to complete the transaction. |

| Paypal.
The only time I see people get in a bind is if they used the "friends and family" feature.
