For those of you who are exceptionally happy with your feed, please share with me what you use (and why)!

I’m in the southeast. I have access to Purina, Triple Crown, Southern States....

I started the Purina Ultium GASTRIC CARE ( Purple bag) last fall and my horses really like it and are doing really well on it. I feed very little but Its lower in Fat than the competition formula and higher in Fiber. It has really helped mine. Plus my tractor supply can order it in for me. I really liked the regular ultium but my horses would get hot on it if I couldnt keep them rode because of weather etc. The Gastric care really keeps them level.

I feed the original Purina Ultium with coastal hay and alfalfa. I also feed platinum GI but the horse I bought it for won't eat it. The other one will, so she gets it LOL.

I was feeding nutrena safechoice perform and I was feeding this mare 1.5 scoops (plastic feed store scoop) twice daily in addition to coastal hay and alfalfa and with the Ultium I can feed her 3/4 a scoop and she holds her weight better.

The three youngest get Purina Healthy Edge and two oldest get Purina Sr Active. They've been on Purina for years, and I've always been very happy with it. My two oldest boys were on the regular Sr until the Active came out and I did some research. One is 39 and the other is 23 this year--they look really good I think. They also all get beet pulp and Platinum CJ. Dan (39) gets rice bran. We tried Nutrena once, and it was a disaster! We have about a 4 hour round trip to get feed, but they are worth it

Free choice grass hay or pasture for everything.
Show horse gets soaked alfalfa/beet pellets. No processed grains. THE Muscle Mass and Forco. A flake of alfalfa when I put him in under lights at night.

Riding geldings and broodmares are on pasture, they get hay during the cold and snow. Equipride tubs late fall to spring until green grass comes.

Super old pony gets soaked alfalfa/beet pellets, THE Muscle Mass, Purina Active Senior
weanlings usually get Purina Ultium Growth, but I had a colt that was sick all summer and he grew to fast on it. So they got Purina Enrich ration balancer this year. Still look good.

I have fed LONESTAR SUPER GLO for years. I feed my Performance horse PLATINUM PERFORMANCE as a supplement and all others, which are broodmares get GROSTRONG MINERALS daily. Everyone gets coastal hay daily. I feed twice a day.

My trainer feeds PURINA PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE and her horses (and mine) look terrific. The Purina feed would be much easier for you to get, I am sure. Neither of these feeds are very expensive like $14 per sack

I am looking into the BOSS Why do you feed it and how much. My feed program almost the same as yours but I don't feed oils, but do feed flaxseed(horsehine). I was looking into the BOSs because of price difference in the flax and boss. thanks

Triple Crown Senior and soaked alfalfa cubes. Tift 85 flake twice a day and out on pasture. I was using Seminole Dynasport and absolutely loved it but my distributor would never keep enough in stock and I was not about to go get feed and they not have what I need. If I had a constant supply again I would be right back on it. The Triple Crown Senior has been a great alternative though.

Did the dynasport make your horse hot?

I like the sound of that feed and Ultium Gastric. But if I read correctly, I would feed about 1lb of the dynasport per day or 6lbs of the Ultium per day...

Whole oats to mix their herbs, and whole flax. I'll add alfalfa pellets if needed.
Mine get most everything they need from their hay :)

No they were never hot on it, but I ride mine 5-6 days a week and haul every weekend. I didn't have to feed much of it either. My hard keeper who is prone for ulcers really bloomed on dynasport. He is doing well on the triple crown senior too.

Competition horses are on Purina Ultium and alfalfa

Training horses and pasture pets are on Oats/Wheat Midds/Flax mix and alfalfa/grass mix (unless owners request otherwise)

All look great and are shiny even with winter coats

Free choice grass hay in a slow feed net.
3 #'s Standlee alfalfa cubes each night.
1 lb renew Gold
2 scoops platinum

Thinking of starting somekind of coat supplement to prevent fading only becasue I am curious if they work and I am totally being vain haha.

If anyone has suggestions on the best choice for a black horse let me know.

Your program is very similar to mine and my black guy doesn't fade and he is on pasture 24/7 with a run in shelter. I also feed alfalfa pellets to mix supplements in. How long have you been on the PP?

We use Seminole Perform Safe. Horses all look great but the biggest reason I use this brand is because it is one of the few feeds that is milled at a "horse feed only" mill with no chance of ionophore contaminated feed that could kill my horse. Been there, done that!

I feed Nutrena Pro Force Fiber (5 lbs a day) per horse, and each horse gets 4 cups a day of BOSS. During the winter that are getting soaked alfalfa cubes and beet pulp once daily also. My 27 year old mare really filled out quickly when I switched over to the Pro Force Feed. (topline really filled in)

I feed 4lbs a day of Bluebonnet Omega Force, 1/2lb renew gold. They get a big slow feed net of good coastal hay at night in their stalls. They get pretty much all day turnout (depending on weather) on decent fertilized pasture. I'm pretty happy right now with how they look.

Was just feeding ADM Senior Glo and Animal Element supplements (plus Bermuda hay and pasture). Recently starting feeding mostly Omnis Cubes with a little ADM and AE. May be switching over to Omnis and a little Tribute feed. That will depend on how my meeting with Tribute goes Sunday and if/when our feed store starts carrying it.

I have been feeding no grain and no hay for almost 3 years now and couldn't be happier.  My horses are shinier, stronger, and heavier than they have ever been.  We have no issues with EPM, ulcers, or hard keepers anymore.  I am now feeding Hay-rite mini cubes and OE Align.  Super simple, anyone can feed my horses.

?Now I have to question anyone that thinks concentrated grains are necessary or even healthy for horses.

I feed Hemp seed oil and meal.  Hemp has the best Omega ratio of all oils plus it has GLA.  The meal is quality protein plus.  Very palable for a superior diet for all animals.
Go to FB and to North American Hemp Products for more information.
