| I’m wandering what people do while traveling long distances for their horses legs. I will be going to rodeos soon 10 plus hours away, closest is 5 hours. I was thinking either nothing at all or maybe standing wraps. Wanting opinions!! |

| I’m pretty interested to. Was just thinking about this today. In July I will be going from Southern CA to Washington state. Over a 3 day period but I’m interested to ! Right now I just use regular cotton shipping boots. |

| I usually use these on short trips but I’m thinking they will be too hot for long distance. I do have bot no bow wraps that I’m considering using too. |

| I think they are important but wrapped incorrectly can do more harm than good. |

I dont think the BOT wraps would be a good ideal for a long trip especially when the heat hits.

| In the summer, you are probably better off either using nothing at all or using the PHT MagnaCu wraps since they are copper infused and actually cool off. BOT is ceramic and produces heat. |

| I have BOT quick wraps, but I just bought a full set of Rambo Ionic for the summer. Very impressed with the quality. |

| I don't wrap. I hauled college rodeo (some of my longest hauls) and they were always naked in the trailer. I don't like them getting too warm and loosening up their tendons. |

Location: Oklahoma | I use the PHT copper wrap when traveling (not the MagnaCU). The BOT are too hot when on the trailer in the summer and I don't like leaving the Magnets on mine that long. I will stop and put PHT blankets on couple hours out, or when we stop and walk the first time. |

| I always wrap when going that far. If it's cool enough, I use my BOT boots, when its hot use standing wraps. I've found (if you have enough time) that if I hose their legs off with cold water, then wrap their legs stay cooler way longer! (but I also live up north and don't get heat like they do farther south. |

| I just talked to Josey's. Pam was hired to wrap all of Martha's horses legs. She said that you can use BOT in the summer and that all these pro rodeo girls are BOT year round. I want to stress that if the horse is not wrapped properly it does more harm than good so if you aren't sure how to wrap, save your money and go without. |

Location: Pelham, TN | We use the quick wraps that are fleece and have a knit fabric on the outside. These have been around since the 80's and are so easy to use. You can purchase them at Shallow Creek Bits. |

| Unless it's a short trip (less than an hour or so), I wrap legs with no bows, standing wraps and a liniment mix of my own to keep them tight and cool. Especially if I'm hauling them to compete. |

Location: the land of dust & sticks | I don’t wrap a lot because I don’t haul a lot of long distances, but when I did Mom always had me wrap standing bandage and polo, if super hot or if needed I would use poultice as well. I have used the quick wraps that are like fleece on the inside and nylon outer layer but they get really hot, so I prefer not to use them. I hauled 2 horses last fall one in reg bandages and the other in quick wraps and the one in reg bandages was cool when unwrapped, One in quick wraps was sweaty. |
