If a thoroughbred (mare) is bred to a paint (stud) , can it still be registered with the jockey club if the dam is registered?

The colt could be registered with APHA, but not JC.

Important note.....horses registered with APHA must be quarter horse or thoroughbred. (And paint or QH cropout) In other words if you breed to an App or walking horse you cannnot register the horse with APHA.
