Location: White Mountains of AZ | I breed Miniature American Shepherds. I love to see other dogs whether you breed them or not!!! But because I am not very computer savvy, I cannot figure out to get my pictures small enough to upload on here....but hopefully the rest of you can!! |

Isn't that an Aussie?
"Mini Aussie" what they're known as to a lot of people, but their official name per AKC is "Mini American Shepherd". They're calling the standard Aussies "Australian Shepherds".

Yep, his papers say, Miniature American Shepherd. He is 2.5yrs old and almost weighs 40lbs. He looks big till he gets a bath! lol! I think when people hear mini, they are thinking way smaller than mine. I have seen mini's a lot smaller than him and then there are the toy aussies.

Location: Kansas | Well, now I know something I didn't know before. I certainly love Aussies. A Cocker Spaniel and a Red Heeler strayed in years ago. Great dogs and great pets but kind of kept me from being able to own any more Aussies at least until they're gone. I only allow myself two at a time.

I am glad!! I sure love mine!! 1 pup out of a litter of 8 ended up being about 40lbs. She just went big! But that was a while ago, and they fed her ALOT haha. |

I'm waiting for one of my old dogs to pass away. Both of them are geriatric plus one is a very cranky old lady heeler dog. She might murder me in my sleep if I brought a puppy into her house. |

Location: Dearing, GA | I hope these attach!!! Oakley is the red tri Mini Aussie; she will be two years old in August. Cash is the red merle and our newest addition; he is three months old and a wild child. Oakley is by far the BEST travel/barrel race dog ever. She LOVES people and would rather be with people than other dogs. Her herding instincts are insane, and I gotta watch her or she'll take off across a pasture to some cows. Cash prefers other dogs over being with his people at this point, but he is still super young and needs some manners- his human daddy is a little too lax with him lol.
