Just saw that too, so heartbreaking. I'm blown away by the number of horses the barrel racing world has lost just recently, seems like we lose one every week. Whoever upset the barrel racing gods needs to apologize quickly. I'm hoping we don't lose anymore anytime soon
What on earth could he have hurt that it took over a month to decide to put him down? And wasn’t he just coming back from an injury that took her out of contention for the NFR the year before last?

It didn't say in the post when she put him down. She could have just waited this long to say anything about it because I am sure it was a devastating loss for her.

No one knows based upon the FB post when he was actually put down. May have been a couple weeks ago...also, many shattered bone injuries can be operated on and casted (assuming that is what happened) but founder of the the weight bearing leg is what ultimately deterimines that the horse will need to be euthanized (reference Barbaro) Founder can take a week or so or longer to rear it's ugly head, Sad all the way around.
