I have a grey horse I’m taking to get a biopsy. He has an odd lump that started out as a fungus looking patch on his nose and then turned into grey rough looking lumps. If it turns out to be cancerous, i would like to consult a vet performs this procedure.

theres a melanoma vaccine thats pretty expensive that we have used at the clinic... results have been not as exciting as we hoped. One horse was owned by my boss and religiously had the melanoma vaccine given and it only temporarily slowed things down.

It sounds like you aren't dealing with that.. but interested to see what your biopsy says.

Now I'm curious. How does this vaccine work? How can you vaccinate for something that isn't a virus?
