| I was really excited to see platinum now comes in a GI formula. My horses absolutely love it but even better, it bought my dog some extra time. She has had cancer for 6 years and about once a month has these spells where she acts like she is starving and will eat clothes , grass, wood, anything she can eat with a feverish pace. I was ready to have her put down today as she had another spell and it was just to much. She went into my feed room and started eating the platinum GI I had spilled and was licking the floor after it was gone for every morsel. So I grabbed a spoon full and put it on a plate for her and she devoured it. She immediately relaxed, quit eating non food stuffs, got some water and took a nap. Woke up 100 percent back to normal!!! I gave her a second spoon full tonight and she loved it. I’m going to leave her on a spoon full a day. My horses lick their buckets for 20 minutes after getting it. And that is not usual for them. Lol anyone else use the new GI formula ? | |

Just got my first bucket in on Saturday - was on the regular since December - they look like tanks but not really fat - and that's coming out of winter. I'm hoping it helps their GI as much - I'm tired of trying to be a chemist. Right about the licking! I almost have to chase my crew out of the barn now - good grief with the licking the bucket...
Glad to hear it's helped your girl.

Yep, it could just be me but my horses like the GI better than the regular and they smell the same! THey must know there is something in it they need. Neither of mine will TOUCH the CJ though. Tried it and it was a no go. lol

Will you still be feeding any other ulcer preventative supplements as well or too early to tell?

I'm not feeding any other ulcer prevents. I want to see if the GI will take care of that as well. I also switched both my horses over to 1 pound Renew Gold daily. I had tried RG on a couple horses in years past and did not get the results I wanted to see, but so far the two I have now I think are doing well. Main reason I switched is because my previous horses LOST WEIGHT on it. Those particular horses did not need to lose, they were harder keepers. The two I have now are SUPER EASY keepers so I am actually hoping they do lose weight on it. LOL

That is my hope as well. I switched to RG in January and am pleased so far with their weight and that's coming out of winter - but their work load was less - we are back up to full time for the past 2 weeks and they haven't dropped any YET. LOL

Are you feeding the Bar version of platinum? I have never tried those. Mine probably wouldn't eat that either. LOL Mine would not TOUCH the CJ formula in any flavor , and ate the regular formula " OK". But they devour the GI. I think I am going to give them 2 scoops daily as recommended for the first couple weeks then back off to 1 scoop daily I think.
