Love Stoney saddles.... they are very well made, very balanced saddle. I love the way it fits my horse, fits me. I feel secure in it. I had a Coats for a short period of time and I didn't feel as secure in it as I do in my Stoney. I don't think you could go wrong with either one... Stoney saddles are harder to find used... they hold their value.

Stoney!! There is no comparison. I tried a coats saddle out for a few months from a friend and was a little disappointed in how it rode. Bought my Stoney saddle a couple of years ago and I will never sit my rearend in anything else!

I love my Stoney's as well! I have had 2 Coats in the past and to me I just feel like I sit "in" my Stoneys as opposed to "on" a Coats. If that makes sense. Also, you can't beat the quality of the tooling on a Stoney.

I've had both. Stoney made me feel like I was strapped in a car seat. Too secure for me. My newest Coats I had made with a lower cantle and the horn is slightly more tilted forward. I like the more free and open feeling, as well as a flatter seat. But my horses are big and floaty running barrels. Nobody is put together downhill. It's entirely personal preference. If the horses I rode were put together differently, I may feel better in a Stoney.
