| And it is everything but what the guy said he was. He is not gentle. He humps up and is a fire breathing dragon. Has boogers on his hocks that are over a week old and has no idea what happened because he didn't have them when he left? Lets hear all your stories? Help me feel like I am not the only one that did my research and tried to trust someone and in the end absolutely got burned..... |

| well, this maybe a long shot, but I'd ask your vet about pulling blood and drug testing him. When I had a prepurchase exam done by my vet, he told me to have blood pulled just in case. He wouldn't run the test unless I called him within a week (I think). He kinda insisted on this because unless I called for the test, it wouldn't cost me anything.
But he could be just discombobulated, if it was a long haul and he isn't used to that or if the hauler was rough driving or handling. He might just need a while to get his bearings.
Just random thoughts that popped into my tired brain. |

Location: Illinois | I had one that was drugged when I tried him, still bought him anyway because a friend had been around him & said he wasn't that bad. Broke 2 halters the day I brought him home, couple weeks later he was hauling kids around, had him 17 years now. The black horse double barrel kicked me right off the trailer, sent me air born into the barn. He's bomb proof & has never threatened to kick again, had him 12 years now. My newer mare was crazy anxious, reared, got silly & even coliced bad within days of bringing her home. Opposite of what she was like, she settled in after a couple weeks & has been fine for the last 8 months so far. So he possibly just needs to chill for awhile and adjust to a new place with new people. I typically don't fully judge them until closer to 30 days, i don't know how long you've had him yet. |

| How long have you had the horse? If it's under a month I would give it some time. You might also pay attention on how you are around this horse. He's new and if you're nervous around him it might be the fuel on the fire. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Did you buy this horse sight unseen and have him shipped? I would take him to the Vet as soon as possible and make sure nothing is in his system. I would then give him time.... |
