It's a might soon for my grandson of Playgun to be competing, since he is a 2018, but since nobody else has posted...
His momma is by Doc Fitz and she sure is a good one!  His Daddy is a Pink Buckle horse, PG Dry Fire.
HIGH HOPES for this one!

It's a bit too early for our filly to be competing as well, but we are SO excited for her! She's a granddaughter of Playgun (Hired Gun is the sire), out of our daughter of Big Brown (2008 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner). She's 2mo old in this picture, getting grey fuzz! Her dam is in foal to Fiestas Gotta Gun for 2019.

She is a yearling and out of a dual pep daughter.

She is very nice smart and kind filly. Not easily excited. Much more like mom personality wise, she has dads color though! :)

Is her dam Bearlyadually? I saw where HG's previous owners had a filly out of that Dual Pep mare and they called the filly "Dinosaur". She was super cute and very well built, but I thought she was sorrel at that time. I would love to see your yearling now!

That's how our Sweet Pea is, she isn't too excitable, but very curious and easy to handle. I dewormed her the other day without a halter or anything on and she was a champ about it! Her dam is very easygoing too, so I think that helps. I am excited to see how she matures and changes color too!

This isn't a new video, but this is a son of Playgun named Ranger Cookie. Bad little horse!

My boyfriend's rope horse is a Ranger Cookie son. He's spent the last year as My bf's main mount on the feedlot as well. I definitely foresee some barrels in his future if I can sneak him away now and then, lol.

That I love those lines! Dual Pep and Playgun, very very nice!!

Have a friend that raises cutters, and she has a Playgun daughter that has given them some nice babies. She's blind but is a wonderful little momma. (Becky wanted to use some of them for barrels but said she only has time to concentrate on one discipline right now!)

I have a great grand-daughter and a grandson, but I’m in the same waiting boat as everyone else, lol. Yearling and weanling.

Yearling filly is a grand-daughter of the previously mentioned Ranger Cookie. Her sire is a young son of his who is out of a Dash for Perks daughter. My filly’s dam is a grand-daughter of Oklahoma Fuel and Dash for Cash.
She’s in a growth spurt so she’s a touch ribby and butt high, but she’s super smart and easy to handle.

I
2018 buckskin stud colt. By Hired Gun out of a Scottish Will and Docs Lynx bred mare. He was 45 days old yesterday when I took these pics.

 photo 8EEAF1FE-F7F4-4B11-B725-16F7745BD42D_zpsgaexqtik.jpg

He’s very bold, full of himself, and typical colt ornery but very smart. He’s already halter broke and you can throw a rope all over him, pick his feet up, etc.

I’m really looking forward to a lot of fun with both colts!

I picked up this mare about a month ago. Grand of Playgun. 5 yo Green Broke - she's gentle, watches her feet. Lays her ears back at approaching horses. Lazy but has a big go! I have a good feeling about her, but sorry, shes not running yet either! Lol

We have a 5yo granddaughter of Playgun, just getting started running. Bought her with 22 rides on her and has been our 8yo daughters main mount since. She's very well minded and not excitable, but she does have a lot of gears! If I wasn't a newbie at posting, I'd post a picture.

You wouldn't be if u saw the bruises on my thighs. Lol. She is so easy going I wasnt paying attention and water bottle spooked her and she put me on the ground. Love her even more! At least now I know she can move real fast lol

Trotting barrels and she is just easy.

These are my Playgun grand get.  Love ridden Playgun bred horses - I have had the pleasure of owning four of these Preferred Gun horses and I have loved them all.  Good luck with your baby.

What a fun cross!  I love Hired Gun!

Playgun himself was lazy as hell lol.  He barely wanted to work the flag but would dominate a cow as soon as he saw it.
Anything Playgun crossed on something hotter would be an awesome cross.

I picked up this mare about a month ago. Grand of Playgun. 5 yo Green Broke - she's gentle, watches her feet. Lays her ears back at approaching horses. Lazy but has a big go! I have a good feeling about her, but sorry, shes not running yet either! Lol

That is a pretty neat cross! I like her a lot!!

Agree, cuz he's out of a daughter of Lil Peppy.   I mean it's within reason, you gotta consider the bottom side too.  But that's a great cross itself with a hotter mare on Playgun.

gorgeous color and that streaming white tail is magnificent ..

I chose AUTOMATIC CAT a blue roan from the same ranch to crossover
on my palomino barrel speed bred mare for a 2019 foal ….

You will grit your teeth when you see what AQHA judges are high marking
and ruining reining as a sport. Reiners are now forced to carry their noses
on the ground like WP horses. grrrrrrr Watch his training video and puke!!

I bred to him for his dynamic sires and dams LTE and PE …
and the mare power of Shes Pretty Smooth, Autumn Boon and
the super mare ROYAL BLUE BOON

Who knows … I may get a palomino roan … lol

This has me cracking up, if you all could see our Peanut mare, "hot" is the last word that would come to mind. Even though she's a TB (and a daughter of BB), she is super mellow and laid back. She loves to get out and run in the pasture, and she sure can get up under herself and take off, but she is just a cool cat. I wouldn't call her lazy by any means, she knows when it's time to work and has a ton of athleticism and heart, but she's like that kid in school who wandered around at recess, daydreaming. After all the poking and prodding she's had done to her, she's still a sweetheart.

We really like HG's fire and grit, and think it will be a perfect cross. So far, Sweet Pea is exceeding our expectations and we are very impressed. We plan on breeding Peanut back to HG in 2019.

I never said YOUR mare was hot.

The poster above said anything playgun was great on hot horses. I simply said I would not breed him to a hot mare.

Oh no I didn't feel insulted at all!! Please don't worry about that, and I didn't mean anything negative by my post! I was just laughing because Peanut is the literal opposite of "hot", so it makes me feel like we are on the right track!

Still not one that is running but exciting news in my world... my mare who got hurt last summer and I had to let go on a breeding lease because I couldn't afford board on a horse that was just standing around. I got word that she checked in foal yesterday to No Gun Play(I will put all breed below). The people who are leasing her are going to have a couple babies out of her till I get done with school and then I get her back. I get the choice of getting her back in foal to No Gun Play or his sire Lethal Playgun, if he is still alive and able. No Gun Play is only 5 but he has alot of accomplishments in the working cow horse pen and even a 3rd place finish at the 2017 Tulsa Reining Classic in the green open reiner. I am excited about either one of those crosses because they are both super nice boys. Spring 2019 can't come soon enough to see what this cross brings!

My mare, Sanjo Trinka.

Good!

I have had so may calm sweet TBs I've never actually had a "hot" one so Im not surprised you girl is not in the least.
I do think its a great cross, I really like Drew even though I've seen his very naughty side lol He is an incredible athlete and would work himself I to the ground and then keep working if he loved you.

I've seen his oldest colts on the flag and they have so much promise He will be a producer Im positive of that.

Playgun crosses better on hotter mares if you want a cutter.  I will still stand by that.  Own daughters of him also cross better on "hotter" studs like Dual Rey.
Deviations exist on sons of Playgun depending on bottom side.

what are everyone's thoughts on this cross? would be used for roping and barrels

fiestas gotta gun x bound to be regal

mare is big bodied and heavily muscled like a regal choice, but kinda lazy and real mellow.
