Location: South Georgia | I just got a new (to me) Double J Pozzi. On the off side, it has a halfbreed latigo instead of the standard off billet that I'm accustomed to. So, my question is, with the adjustable rigging on the saddle, I'd like to use the center position where you use the front AND back rigging options to cinch up. Here's a diagram...

So, how the heck do I maneuver the halfbreed latigo on the opposite side so that the saddle is cinched in the center position on both sides.
Do I make any sense?

Can I use it somehow in the center position or do I need to buy another full length one like is on the other side of the saddle? |

I would just buy another full lenght one, you want it to be in the same position on both side, I have 3 Double J saddle with the 3 way rigging and these saddle came brand new with the same lenght billets on both sides. You want the pressure to be the same on both sides. |

Location: Southern Indiana | You may call double J and get one or if you buy one you'll have to cut it off. I personally took all of mine off because its very easy to cinch up and not realize that the buckle isn't buckled on the off side. It has a tendency to come undone when the tension isn't there. I just use the front slot and a regular off billet on the off side. I honestly cannot tell a difference what so ever between using both or just the front. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | For the ones that do buy a saddle with the 3 way rigging Some are confused on how this set up is done, but its really important to rig you horse up the same on both sides, I have seen alot that are uneven, alot of times I have seen just a billet on the right side like a half breed like the OP was talking about in the back/or front position while the left side is rigged different, this will cause your horse to get really sore, got to have the same on both sides.. Someone was telling me one time how the Double J 3 way rigging saddle was making their horse really sore they showed how they were doing the rigging and just had a reg. billet on the back on the right side and cinched up opposite on the left side. Was a big no no.
Just saying this here just in case some are chinching up like it was a normal rigging, And I saw this alot..Not saying anyone on here is doing that but just had to say this

I just run the extra back up through the ring, and it hangs diagonal behind my back girth kinda...it doesn't flop around anyway.

On my last saddle that had one, I stuck it in the loop on the cinch. |

I'm guilty of that too. I have one of those double sewn off billets. They are really easy to adjust. But after reading this post, I will have to change it. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | I see what you are asking. Start the half breed through cinch then split half over left rig then the other half over right rig bring both back to cinch and buckle off as usual now you have the center rig. Note the strap will not be facing the same way back and front will show, as another said both sides must be done the same way. When cinching your latigo starts on the left through cinch loop over right rig and pulled tight.
