comes into heat as soon as we leave the property? She currently lives with all geldings and never seems to come into heat or show any signs but new this year, as soon as we jump off the trailer shes a total hussy. Didn't do this at all last year, but now will flirt hard with mares or geldings. She does have a caslick in but wondering if cysts would cause this or what else it could be?

I have a mare like this..... She has been on Regumate for a long time now and that fixed the "hussy issue". About to put her on the bi-monthly shots once my Regumate is empty.

I USED to have one like that! And like stated above she is on Regumate daily, even over winter because in SO CAL it never gets cold enough to keep her out of heat. she is SO MUCH happier now!!! I have played with dosage and found that she will do fine on 7cc rather than 10 so that stretches the regumate out.

Mine actually needs 11cc of Regumate, but she is also a very big girl.

Its actually length of day more so than ambient temperature that causes mares to start cycling. Some mares never go into seasonal anestrus and cycle all year.

Can you get regimate without a prescription?
Nope, not that I have ever found! Not even horseprerace or any of those have it. Its expensive! It costs me 300.00 for a bottle. Bottle lasts me almost 4 months.

You can order it online cheaper. You will need to send in your prescription or the company will contact your vet to get it. Roughly $230-$245 a bottle. I have a mare that's been on it for a few years now but last year she started to come into heat through it and this year she started to as well so I am thinking I may need to up her dosage.
