Do you guys remember several years ago (probably 8-10) that Charmayne had announced on her website they were involved with producing a movie about her and Scampers story. They were casting actors at the time. Obviously the plug got pulled on the project, but I was wondering if anyone in BHW may have heard why or what happened. Just curious. If it had been done right it could have been great. Rodeo doesn't have many movies to its credit.

I went to one of her clinics about 5 years ago and I think she said the director had pull out really before it even got started, but they were still hoping to find someone to get it going.

I think there’s enormous potential for a movie about CJ and Scamper, and it could be very good for the sport. How she managed to team up with that renegade horse as a child to become one of the most successful teams in history is a story most would enjoy on film.
Over the years, stories about horses have been pretty successful.
Everyone seems to like a good movie about horses. “Secretariat” and “Sea Bisquit” were very successful and they were based on real horses. Even movies loosely based on history like “Dreamer” and “Hidalgo” were box office successes. Producers of a movie about CJ and Scamper don’t have to embellish the truth much at all to make that story appealing. I know I’d pay to see it.

I think Mary Walker's story would be phenomenal!
Speaking of Mary, I was waiting my turn in the back of the alley at an Ammy rodeo a couple of weeks ago and a young girl came riding up on THE Latte. Apparently she is his new jockey. What a feeling it must be for that little girl.
