| I love my Tipperary. I don’t find it too hot here in Georgia! |

Location: Georgia | I personally like the Tipperary best. I hated how you had to tighten the chin strap of the Troxel so tight. I never had to over tighten my Tipperary |

I only wore it 3 or 4 times before swapping back to a hat, but I would 100% recommend them! True to their size chart as well. |

| I have the Tipperary Sportage and love it!!!! It's comfy and its not hot at all and mine is even blackish in color. It is well vented. And if I recall correctly the Tipperage Sportage was designed by a neurosurgeon. The Tipperary covers the back of the head better too. |

I agree with this - try them on if you can! I have a Tipperary Sportage and an FT helmet and the Troxel is significantly more comfortable for me. |

You'll need to try them on and see which one is the most comfortable for YOU. Every has different shaped heads.
Troxel is not comfortable for me.
I have a Tippery Sportage and love it. |

Yep, second this. I had a Tipperary and it did not fit me correctly at all. Got a Troxel, much better fit. I wish I'd gone somewhere where I could have tried them on before forking over $$$ on the Tipperary that did me no good. |

Some things about helmets: 1.) Your head is either an egg shape or a round shape. So yes try on, return, try on again. 2.) Get a helmet box/bag. Your helmet can be compromised on the inside by storing it improperly, dropping it, etc. 3.) Helmet covers are life savers and also very fun. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I think mine is an IRH or IHR something like that. Passed all the safety specs and when I have it on, I don't even know it is up there. Doesn't get hot and has a low profile. Wasn't cheap but not going to break the bank either. |

Try an Ovation Schooler.
I loved how my Ovation Schooler fit my head! It broke this spring so I first bought a Tippery Sportage helmet and I really did like it, but after riding in it for 40 minutes it gave me a massive headache. Tried it a few more times and it just kept hurting me. I sadly returned it and bought a Troxel FX (?) Ones. I love how it has the knob on the back where you can adjust it tightness since it's not perfect for the shape of my head but it doesn't give me headaches! After this one I'll prob go back to an Ovation. Maybe by then they'll have some more colorful options! |

This. Don't have a lot of experience with helmets but I did try a FT one and a normal troxel and they were both so comfortable. I definitely am considering the switch. |

I bought the Ovation that looks similar to the tippary and really like it. I have only worn it once, but I honestly wasn't bothered by it at all. (I am not normally a helmet wearer, just bought it to break my colt) It was a hot day and my head wasn't hot or uncomfortable at all. I have a really small head and with the adjustment it fit great. |

Location: Wisconsin | So I drove 2 hours to a tack store this weekend that carried multiple brands and ended up with a Tipperary! They had a lot of the brands suggested on this thread, but in the end the fit and the price range of the Tipperary beat out everything else... even tried on the $400 helments, wowzers! I ordered a couple online and ended up returning them before I went to the tack store as well. Thanks for all the suggestions! |
