Anyone made one? I have a breathing machine from my dad that he got before he passed away. Just wondering if anyone turned one into a horse one and how and was you happy with it? or is it just better to buy the horse one? thanks

Yes I've helped a few people make a couple under a 100 dollars! Use a milk jug as a mask or buy the plastic mask from big dees. Then use corrugated medical tubing cut into a 7 to 10 inch section to connect to the neb cup from mask. The size and psi of the compressor isn't what makes the nebulizer effective. It's the particle size the nebulizer med cup creates. The type and quality of cup is way more important. The only thing a higher psi will do is make the treatment time slower or faster. There is a ton of Science behind nebulizers in the human medical field. That technology is actually the same for horses.

I went to a medical supply store and purchased a human grade nevulizer, cups and tubes. And purchased a used equiresp mask.
Works great for my horses with IAD from summer allergies.

I only do it pre race and when stalled inside. Can you get inhaled albuterol solution or a inhaled steroid solutions like budesonide to nebulize? To me just doing saline or silver isn't enough if you have full blown copd or IAD. But.... The most important part is management.... Watering hay and keeping them in a low dust environment. My horse is actually completely off of hay. I have good hay and even in good hay dust and mold spores are to much for him.
