| My 13 year old daughter started complaining about her right side hurting.. badly yesterday, she was with her dad. He brought her home and I took her to her dr this afternoon, he was really concerned it may be her appendix and sent us directly to the ER at children's. They took us back immediately. She's hooked up to the IV and an ultrasound was done but the results are inconclusive. Waiting on Dr's to come back, he's concerned because her belly is swollen on that side and it's completely tender to the touch and she can't walk upright. This is a scary dejavu for me, same er I was in with Jacob. They are trying to decide if a CT scan will be next or try more ultrasound. |

| She's being admitted tonight. Sigh.... I was hoping to never have to spend another night in that hospital. They want to keep her for observation. The dr isn't totally convinced we are dealing with appendicitis just yet since it hasn't been long enough since her symptoms started to do a CT scan and get a definite answer so we will stay tonight and reevaluate tomorrow. |

| She's about the same as she was yesterday. Her blood count is also the same, not showing any sign of infection, but she's still in so much pain. It's very odd. And frustrating. We are waiting for the surgeon to come in, this will be the same surgeon that worked on Jacob, so at the very least, I know she's in excellent hands if they decide to go in and look at that appendix. They are really trying to avoid a CT scan at this point. Which doesn't make much sense to me buy I'm trusting the Dr's and the process for now. |

| They've finally decided a CT scan is in order. Nothing is showing up on ultrasound or x rays and blood counts are normal levels. But her pain has intensified and the vomiting started again. I pray the CT scan will give us an answer. The surgeon recognized her last name and realized what we've been thru with Jacob and the ultrasounds and x rays missed the tumor the first time I brought him in and he was incorrectly diagnosed with a bruised lung. We sure don't want to take any chances on this.. especially how painful it is for her. |

Continuing prayers for you and your daughter. Glad the dr is being proactive!! FINALLY! Hoping that it is the appendix just because this can be fixed quick and fast healing turnaround. |

| Haven't heard yet from the results of the scan. But her condition has worsen. She says her pain has now turned into throbbing and she's still very nauseated. They are dosing her with morphine as needed. I sure wish we could get some answers. Nurse just told me we should be hearing from the surgeon in about an hour they were going over her case. |

| I’d be terrified that if it were her appendix it may have ruptured by now...but I guess blood work might would show the infection?!? I hope you get answers soon!!!! Hang in there “mom”! |

He gave her the go ahead to start eating and drinking. She has to stay thru the night again for observation. I thought for sure her appendix was the issue but it's definitely not. They are thinking maybe just a bad case of a nasty intestinal bug... |

| She got discharged around 1 today. They couldn't find anything wrong. She's actually feeling much better. She's been able to keep everything down since yesterday afternoon. Such a strange deal but I'm so glad we are home, I've had enough of that hospital, as nice as they are. Nothing beats sleeping in your own bed, a home cooked meal and a hot shower! |
