I'm trying to get ready for the baby I have due next April. We just bought a new place and unfortunately, the internet SUCKS. Like 6Mbps download speed, and .5 Mpbs Up. Terrible. So, I'm trying to find a camera that either doesn't run on wifi (do they exist) and get good enough picture that I can distinguish when she is in labor. I'm thinking like baby monitor quality. If it has the ability to be viewed through a website from outside (like, while I'm away at work) would be exceptional, but I also realize those are likely not to work with crappy wifi maybe?
Also, this is likely the only time I'll need it. We're praying the internet gets upgraded out here soon, and we'll install home security cameras, but for now...
My spy cam is direct to my computer with the ability to be viewed online through a DNS service (search online for that). My cam is a Sony RX570N security cam with pan, tilt, zoom and night vision. The cam is on the house, my foaling pen is 150 ft away, and I use 2 11 watt bulbs on the high part of the panel gate. With this cam I can adjust the pic to where it looks like daylight and I can zoom in and follow the mare with the panning ability, but usually I just zoom in enough to see the whole pen. I get to sit at my computer and look in as needed without disturbing the mare.
I know there are other options, but not sure on those.
