Location: Arkansas | I have a 39 year old gelding (Dan), and he came out of winter looking very bad. I truly thought in April I was gonna have to make some hard decisions. After a pm with Mr Win about changing his diet just a touch, I ordered some Forco from NeverTooOld. . . . He will be on that product til he leaves me for greener pastures in the sky. He's put on some much needed weight, he's shiny, and feels good---I'm just amazed overall, but his manure is the biggest thing for me. . . I have owned Doodlebug for 19 years, and I simply cannot tell you the last time he had normal poo!! HE ACTUALLY HAD HORSE APPLES IN HIS STALL YESTERDAY
(I told Miss Kathie, NTO, that non-horse folks just don't understand the giddiness from having normal poo---but I know y'all do!!!)
Miss Roxie is gonna post some pictures for me. I'd like more weight on him, but I feel so blessed to have him looking like he does and for the help I've received from Miss Kathie and Mr Win
I'll say again---I love this site and the wonderful, helpful folks I've encountered |

We started everything April 19, the day I took those first pictures. I have about another week or so left in the first container of Forco, and I've already received the second shipment!! |

| Forco is the bomb! I've tried other similar products but never get the same results. There's no comparison. I don't currently have anyone on it but that's definitely my go to if I feel like one needs a pick me up or is having diarrhea issues. |

There you go my friend, now tell a little about him , And I would like to see the whole Dan not just his belly and butt, lol.. So send me a picture of Dan so I can post it here for you, I would love to see that face of his
You'll be sorry you asked about him!!! I try not to talk about my individual "kids" on here cause I tend to gush and go overboard!!
He was the first horse I owned after my wreck. I bought him in September, 1999. He was dog gentle and took care of me from day one. I've had a covey of quail fly up literally under his belly and he never acknowledged that anything happened. He was the first horse for Chandler and still the horse Chan says is his and that will never leave this farm. I could ride him bareback with a halter and lead rope. There were many times I'd go down for just a short ride around the ponds---I'd get on him without my prosthesis, annnnddd promptly fall off the other side!!! He'd bend his head around and just look at me like "what are you doing down there"!!! My other gelding would give me the same look cause I was laying in the alley way between them. Dan was patient while I learned to not be so "enthusiastic" on my mounting routine!! He can't see very well anymore, and he's been retired from riding for years. He has hardly any teeth, so his tongue hangs out most of the time---he's very juicy when you're near him!!! He has been my friend, my confidant, my counselor, and my heart; his mane has soaked up many tears when I went thru my divorce and needed a non judgmental listener. . . . He gets the best I can provide him and always will. I've had people tell me that he's old and not rideable anymore and not worth keeping alive---well, y'all can just imagine how that sits with me. Dan owes me nothing and has paid for his lifetime care from me in spades.
I told you you would be sorry you asked, Miss Roxie!!!! |

How here is a few pictures of the whole Dan, now we can see his face, lol.. Such a handsome fella And I see apples, lol..
In the picture with the water tank, he's 37, and the barn alley he was 35. As you can see, the tongue is a constant fixture OUTSIDE his mouth!!
When I was looking for a horse, I went to some close friends who own cutting horses; I knew they would help me find THE RIGHT horse for me. Dan was owned by a couple in the town my friends lived in; he was the wife's horse. When she was diagnosed with brain cancer and realized she couldn't ride anymore, they decided to sell Dan. (They allowed my friends to keep him at their house--I went and rode and did all the "unique" things around him that I require in a horse--mount from above them, crutches around at all times, when I get on I sit in the saddle and pick my right leg up over their heads, etc. He never bobbled anything I asked of him.) When I went to pay them, Mrs Pullin wasn't there---her husband gave me Dan's winter blanket, said she wanted him to have it and not be cold but that she couldn't watch me leave with it knowing he wasn't coming back. . . . She gave me a priceless gift, and I owe her as well as Dan to take good care of him. I keep her updated ever so often about how he's doing. I'm blessed by every horse God has given me, but if I hadn't started with Dan, I don't think I'd have all the others. . .
Thank y'all for the kind words (and help from Mr Win and Miss Kathie)---it means a lot for knowledgeable horse people to tell me that |

What are you feeding him ?
AM-he gets 6 pounds of Purina Sr Active, 3 cups rice bran, 2 cups beet pulp, 1 scoop Forco, and 2 scoops Platinum CJ.
PM-he gets 6 pounds Active, 3 cups rice bran, 3/4 cup beet pulp, and 1 scoop Forco.
Other than the Forco added in April and rice bran over a year ago, the other products have been his diet for years. |

I think that this particular horse is not on Renew Gold. We discussed the whole program and did not want to change a very long time diet that, while perhaps not perfect, had been working very well in the past to keep this great old man going for a long time. Moving to FORCO first was the plan, with further assessment if needed. That did the trick, further changes could wait. While RG works great on these senior horses, I don't like to change a lot at one time for horses this age. This guy is a great story, and I don't need to feed them all. |

And this sums this gentleman up in a nutshell---he helped me with tweaks to Dan's diet but didn't tell me I had to try HIS product. . . . What a truly nice man. |

| Chandler's mom your pictures and story give me hope, we have a 28 yr old that I've had for 25 years and a 27 yr old pony that we have been having issues with. I'm definitely going to have to check in to the Forco because we have been battling trying to keep weight on the pony.
And yes those old ones really do steal our hearts. I don't know what I would do without mine. |

I kinda feel validated, because sometimes I still feel like that 12 year old little girl begging for a horse but knows not one thing about them. I just lurked on this site for a long time before I posted anything because I was intimidated by all of you who knew so much; I just didn't feel like I could add anything meaningful. So I say "thank you" for making me feel like it's ok for me to be here |

It's sooo worth it to me! And I'll also say about Miss Kathie (NeverTooOld)---she was upfront with me and told me that if I didn't see a change in X number of days, then it probably wasn't going to help. So neither she nor Mr Win tried to sell me any magic potion. Very rare in today's world. |
