Location: MN | I just had a wonderful and very amusing chat with Kathy about my two guys. She was spot on with their personalities! She pointed out some things that only I knew.
Apparently Little Wayne REALLY loves his big butt LOL. Wilson likes the MC Hammer song "Cant touch this" and he really loves to make me happy! The way he acts also reflects this song to a tee.
It was just great to hear that my boys are happy and love their job/life. To hear that they "adore" me, made my day!! I highly recommend her and I was a huge skeptic before todays call.

My mare also is super in love with her own ass and chest. And is quite arrogant in other manners as well. Lol! |

Location: Missouri | It's interesting that this thread is so recent bc I have been considering calling her just for kicks and grins. Can one get an appt fairly quickly or does she have a longer wait list?
Do you get to ask her questions about your horse or does she just tell you what the horse shows her? |

She has a calendar online that you schedule through. If you check it, you can see her availability and if it matches yours.
She asks you a few details about your horse and what questions you may want her to ask them. You can ask however many questions time allows. I did 3 horses and my dog. I think shes pretty spot on with personalities but I didn't really get any useful information with the questions I asked. It was fun. |

Location: MN | In my experience she nailed their personalities. Little Wayne is a super tough horse and he never lets you know if he's hurting or not. He see's a chiro once or twice a year and hes always out in his lower back, shoulder blades and poll. She pointed all of those out with me just asking if he hurt anywhere. He also said that it is all very minor and that he wasnt so much as hurting as he was just sore in those spots. That made me feel good. I iked hearing that he loved his job and the treats he gets after every run. I asked if his feet hurt anywhere and she said, "he said DO NOT change my feet. They are perfect!" I love my farrier and his feet do look great so it made me happy to hear that. Kathy laughed at my horses a lot and told me they were some of the funniest horses shes ever communicated with, which yes, they are both huge goofballs. I didnt get much out of my yearling, but he doesnt really have a job so I wasnt expeting much. Kathy mentioned that she felt like she needed to cough and that my yearling has some allergies. Which he does and has been coughing. Made sense. I'm not sure if I'm 100% sold yet.....I dont know how she does it......it made me laugh and I felt good afterwards so I felt it was worth the 20 min phone call! |

Correct. No hair sample anything. You simply call and tell her their name, age, and what color they are. |

| My experience with Kathy was not so great.
She was very abrupt and was WAY off on my horse.
Sad to say I was very disappointed and would not use her again.

May I ask what she said about your horse? Im just curious to see if anyone else gets the same response time and time again. She kept telling me my horses were both very stubborn and didnt want to talk at first. Wasted quite a few minutes "trying" to communicate in the beginning. |

How much does she charged you guys by the min.? I bet its pricey for you guys when shes trying to get your horse to talk. How much does a average talk cost? Just curious |

Not really.....I felt like any of the questions I asked in relation to issues I was having, the answers were off. For instance I had a mare that would duck with me and I ran her in an o-ring and she said that the mare didn't like the big bit I was using. That mare is sensitive in the mouth, but as I have now fixed the issue that really had nothing to do with it. I use a Kathy James on her now actually. She also said she had some pain in her back...mare wasn't back sore at all and still isn't. My gelding was actually the one that is back sore...maybe there was a miss-communication there? Like I said it was fun, but I didn't get any insight like some people have claimed. |

| I am on the fence about her as well. I feel like it is sort of a shot gun effect I heard of one time when they were explaining that the Long Island Medium was fraud. There are certain answers that more than likely are going to be right if you know what I mean. Like one answer was, he knows he is beautiful, I also got the she is stubborn and does not want to talk. Or the she is so excited and thinking to fast I am asking her to slow down. Needless to say I felt like I got ripped off and got no answers I was looking for. Every answer was indirect and I felt like it planned to be neither right or wrong? But the more I see people answer what she said all the answers kinda start sounding the same if you look at any thread her name comes up? But on the other hand I have personally known people who said they found out a horse was sore somewhere through her. |

| I've called Kathy a few times, never with any high expectations. I always think of it as more of a fun thing to do and not like I'm truly trying to find specific answers. In my experience, she can usually nail their personality really well, and I have animals with very different personalities I've asked her about.
The one that always makes me think she is truly legit though is my dog. He has extreme separation anxiety, is scared to death of other people, and is not a "normal" dog. I asked her what my dog thinks of my husband and she said, "He's BIG (he is), and that he doesn't like him because my husband says he's not a real dog." My husband says that ALL the time. I feel like those are things that she wouldn't be able to just make up and I have never posted them online/Facebook ever.
I had also sold a horse and ended up getting him back because he bucked the husband off. I called Kathy and asked her what happened, she was able to describe it exactly the same as they had. I had only asked her to tell me what happened when they tried to ride him.
I've had a few animals that were really boring. They either didn't show any personality or didn't really answer questions. If those had been my only experiences I probably wouldn't have called her again. |

My dog has even more. Only things that actually listen to me when I talk LOL. |

| I could almost be on board with "animal communicators" if they were there, one on one with the horse. But through the "air waves" over the phone?? Not so much
And if someone told me that my horse loves their big booty and MC Hammer songs I would demand a refund. |

If I have to tell the communicator anything then they have already failed IMO

How she knew he had a big butt...maybe she creeped my facebook? How she knew the places that he was sore in...not sure. That definitely isnt something I go posting anywhere. But she was spot on with them.
Like I said...cant say I'm a 100% believer in the lady, I at least got a good laugh out of it. To each their own. |

Location: Illinois | I used her a few months ago, mostly just for fun to see what she'd say. It was interesting, I posted on another thread about it. We went over the time, but weren't trying to talk to any of them for the extra time, we were just talking riding exercises & things to try & she didn't charge me the extra. I'm not gonna repost the whole story but she brought up things I'm not sure how she could ever know unless she called a bunch of my friends asking, as they weren't on any social media. Some things were just general and stupid yes, but some things made me wonder. She discussed an exercise with me that actually has helped my horses a lot since then so even for me the money spent was worth it bc they're working better from that advice. |

I really wanted to know if my horse was happy with me (even though he wasn't being used much) or if he would rather be sold to someone who would use him more. She spent 15 minutes telling me that I had to make that decision and I needed to get off my keester and make the decision. Actually criticized me for it. I didn't ask her for her opinion on how/if I was procrastinating - I asked her what MY HORSE wanted. When I mentioned that to her (nicely) she got irate and abrupt and pretty mean actually - TOTAL overreaction. Yikes!
I have used several other animal communicators in the past (some were accurate and some not so accurate) but I have NEVER been treated so badly or unprofessionally. |

some people can watch a video and be accurate enough on what is bothering the horse, or at least it is reasonable. there are some safe bets on barrel horses. |
