Blaise Bercegeay has been running her clone by Red Man Bay and has been doing very well.
This is the only barrel horse I know of that's actually being competed on. And he's winning, and really still coming into his own. He definitely inherited the athleticism and talent Red Man Bay had. |

"BR Fred Douglas" she calls him Dougie or Douglas...if you search on Facebook, she has posted several videos. |

There are several cloned cutting stallions standing and "seemingly" producing. Royal Blue Boon Too, Copy Cat are two that come to mind right away. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | Man, when I think back 10 years I realize just how wrong I was about cloning. I completely ignored the importance of non genetic factors that come into play in determining a finished equine athlete, like environment, training, chemistry, and nutrition. Shame on me.
I should have known better.

| I agree that environment plays a large role in phenotype and because of that, I originally thought of cloning as a tool to produce breeding stock primarily. However, after 12+ years in the field, I am continually amazed at the power of genetics and the examples across species continually demonstrate this, from polo horses to elite service dogs to bucking bulls. The science is clear on reproducing the breeding value with cloning. It is just a numbers game now. One interesting observation is that cloning has allowed a number of experimental (outcross) matings that economics would not have allowed otherwise. Just another tool in the repro box. Major shifts in perception over last few years as it has become less threatening and people see firsthand examples. Like most technologies, the adoption curve takes awhile and we all need to see to believe. |

I saw the clone of Feature Mr Jess at Jumonville Farms this year (Back to Feature) and I have to admit, I thought he'd have 3 legs and a lopsided head, but that is one fine, fine looking horse up close. I had never seen Feature Mr Jess in person, so I can't judge the similarities, but I'd have a hard time picking much over Back to Feature. I saw no flaws at all. |

Royal Blue Boon was just an amazing mare. She was beautiful and produced such nice babies. I don't know what her clone has done, but RBB is a true legend in cutting. |
