My daughter is getting married and her colors are black, burgundy and white. Bridesmaids are wearing black. I would rather black than burgandy, but at the same time it seems a little macabre. Of course I could wear a different color all together, I guess. Any suggestions/advice would be great. My daughter doesn’t care either way, bless her heart.

You don’t have to wear one the colors she chose. Wear what looks good on you and compliments you

Actually, black looks good on me. I have a lot of grey in my hair and since they are getting married at their place in a canyon in the San Juan mountains, I thought black with some nice turquoise/silver pieces of jewelry would look really nice.
She is wearing a squash blossom necklace and a turquoise bracelet.

I love black and with turquoise and silver pieces added now that would be really classy looking I think, good choice

Well, thank you. I appreciate it. I think I kinda wanted to make sure it wasn’t too Mortisha Adams looking for a wedding. This is going to be such a cool wedding! Folks from all different walks of life - conservative South Texas ranch families, musicians from all different genres, artists, hippies, etc. a really eclectic group of people.

I really wish I could wear champagne color, I think the more greenish turquoise would have looked great with it.

It does sound like a cool wedding, I'm guessing this is all going to take place outdoors? And what kind of shoes will you be wearing with this awesome setup of the black dress and turquoise? Will it be a long dress or above the knee type? Your going to be really pretty wearing this..

Yes, outdoors with the San Juan Mountains as the view. They live in a canyon very close to the mountains. Something below the knee for sure and probably just flats because even on good solid ground I have always tended toward falling off my heels at some point, lol.

I've seen a lot of ladies lately wear a structured dress with turquoise jewlery and tooled leather heels.
(Buy cheap pair of black heels and cover with brown antiqued tooled leather from a maker.)
I love that look.
