Next year will be my first time going to bbr world and bonus race finals. Any tips or suggestions? What are the arenas like? Any info will help :)

I’ve not been to BBR but I really enjoy the Bonus Race Finals, Renee and her crew do a great job.

Tips... the last 2 years I’ve entered the Bonus Race in an AM session and the open in the PM and had bad luck in the draw, late in the Bonus pen and early in the open pen (like 200 something and then in the first 50). Meaning my horse didn’t get very long to rest, I think I ran around 1:30 in the big pen and then again at 4:00... not the end of the world, but since it’s happened twice in a row now I probably won’t chance it again.

Stalls...they’ll sell out. If your the type who’s ok tying out or have pens you can set up you can save some money by skipping stalls. Or if you wont be there all 4 days you can usually find someone to split with.

The arenas are good, the ground is good. The smaller open pen has a tough approach to 1st, it’s just short and comes up fast. The Bonus Race pen has a long run to 1st. The whole facility is great - 2 other indoor arenas to warm up in, plus an outdoor round pen. They’re doing a ton of other improvements and expansions because the jr high rodeo finals will be there starting in 2021.
