| What’s the going rate per loaded mile lately? Got a quote and got a little sticker shock.
Edited the title for more clarity.

| Sorry, I probably should edit that to say hauling rates. We were quoted per mile on getting a horse up here to Iowa from Texas. The price we were quoted was so high it’s more than worth our own time to just take PTO at work and go pick him up ourselves. We haven’t paid to have one hauled at all recently, so maybe we’re just out of touch. |

| There are some good facebook groups or uship to get more quotes. Some range up into the $1.50/mi but there is no reason to pay more than that in my opinion. |

When you had your mare shipped to you how much did you pay? |

| I had a mare hauled to OH and back at just under $1.00 per mile, licenced and insured hauler, good service and communications. I had a horse hauled from FL to NC in February for just under the OH hauler price per mile, she was super great to work with too, but that was a straighter and easier drive than through the mountains in WV and PA. |

$.70/mi on the last one. I ship at least 1 a year to me and several going out. It's been about that for the last 5 years or so. |

| We paid $1/mile last week, Montana to Texas. Very reasonable IMO, I could not go get him on my own time for that. |

Location: Freestone TX | I have paid about $1/mile for transports from the mid-northern states (Dakotas) and the West Coast to Texas. However, I found hauls from the East Coast to Texas are not as common. I just paid $1.25/mile for an East Coast to TX transport. |

Location: Montana | Am I the only one that thinks this is high? Yep, I'm a seller in remote country so it directly affects my pricing when hauling is high. But prices shot up when gas went to $4 and stayed there when it went down to $2.
It's no wonder sellers have to scramble to try to find alternatives.
If their six horse trailer is full, and I understand that's hard to do, it costs less per mile for me for a semi full of hay with a pup trailer. |

| If i were the hauler I wouldn't do it for less. So it maybe high compared to fuel prices at certain times, but if there is no profit there will be no drivers. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | If the hauler is good and takes super care of the horses and no issues along the way and gives updates, then I would pay what they are asking without any questions, paying a little more for a good hauler is worth every penny I would think. |

Location: Running my kids somewhere. | Can I possibly get the names of the haulers? PM if you want. I am helping a good friend get one hauled from TX to WI. It is to the point I told her I would take off work and make the drive. |
