| Just wanting to know from those of you that have either broke out or ridden/competing on sons/daughters of DTF, how are their minds in general?? I've heard lots of "they are crazy" ,but thought I"d ask for opinions on here too. Looking at purchasing a 2yr old daughter due to a divorce situation. She's just saddle broke now, seems very laid back to me, havent' been on her yet, just from what I've watched. Just a plain sorrel no white markings at all..sorta gangly looking at the moment. I don't know if she's worth the investment now and send her off to a barrel trainer this time next year and pay for that. I can pick this filly up for under 15K if I do so before the divorce gets settled in Oct. I guess. Thoughts anyone? |

| Heck even if you don’t end up loving her you can nearly double your money once she’s on the pattern. Sounds like a good investment. Mare side is also very influential on your outcome. What’s her dam’s lines? Just off of what I’ve heard so far, grab her and run! If you end up hating her, you’ll still end up loving her when she sells. |

| Her dam side is FWF & special effort. The dam was retired at an early age of 5 due to a stifle & leg injury. So she's not from a "proven" dam |

| Our two have been smart and good minded. With that said, they both have strong personalities and they aren’t afraid to get in a fight with you. JMO but the people that say they are dumb tend to be ram and jam type of trainers/riders and most DTF’s don’t tolerate that kind of treatment very well. |

Location: Claremore, OK | I’ve started and ridden over 50 Head of Own sons and daughters of DTF. The majority of them have been very good to deal with with an exceptional attitude and ability. I usually ride at least 2 DTF 2/3 yo studs per year that have always been good minded.
Out of all of them about 10%, all fillies, have been fractious, overly reactive, emotional and immature. All of
Them were out of race bred mares.
If the one you’re looking at is quiet and especially being out of a FWF mare I wouldn’t expect any problems. |

| I was pleasantly surprised with my new DTF daughter this spring. I was expecting a bit more silliness, or immaturity, and instead got a 4yo filly who already acts like 'been there done that.' Not a deadbeat by any means, but she is so level headed! She is Sunfrost/DFC on the bottom. |

The gelding we have was born seasoned. He never cared about banners, loud noises and the only thing he’s ever really spooked at is a pheasant flushing under him. |
