I'm looking to purchase a white noise machine and I want something that sounds real and will last. I want rain,brook ocean with no bird calls and fan noise. Volume control and a nonrepeating loop and a timer. Who has a good machine that can do this?

I got one from Brookstone for Christmas 8 or 9 years ago. It's still going strong and is the best white noise I've ever found. It only does white noise, though..... no rain, storms, ocean, etc. But I've ordered several others off of Amazon and they all sound more like TV static than the "whooshing" noise I prefer.

Brookstone. Got mine through Sharper Image.
The one I have also has rain, thunder, birds, ocean, etc.
I also have a cheaper one by Conair that I got at Walmart that I take with me when I travel. Not as good but pretty decent.
