I did a search and found an ear plug post on horses that get bothered by noise at indoor events but I'm wondering about horses that do not stall well having to be in stalling barns at weekend barrel races. Has anyone ever tried them for this reason?

The one horse I had that needed ear plugs went bonkers when I tried to use them. Called the vet and nope, nothing wrong, just that sensitive. The mare loved to have her ears rubbed so not ear shy, just sensitive to her aural world.

I have one that I put them in before I leave the house, take out right before I run, and put them right back in until I get home. Only been stalled with them twice. First time he was by himself and the second time with another horse. He wasn't quite as good the second time but I blame that on the other horse throwing a fit most of the time (he's just goofy and doesn't like to be away from his buddies even at the house *insert eye roll*). Has made a HUGE difference with him riding in the trailer. I just go to Petsense and purchase the foam cat toy balls. There are 4 in a package and they are $4 at my store. I usually grab as many as they have because I have a tendency to misplace them or I don't get them in his ear far enough and he shakes them out while I'm not paying attention.
