May sound odd but what are some saddle brands that feel as natural or close to riding bareback? I just got a new to me very used Double J that I stole for a great deal on EBay and it fits my horse and me, but I ride bareback every week and like it better than the saddle. Any brands that make you feel like you're really with the horse and not on top? I may need a bigger seat, not sure. Hate to try another saddle after getting something to fit him

Treeless saddles are much like what you are describing.

A treeless like a Bob marshall is going to be as close to being bareback as you can get with a thin pad.

Oh ok, didn't consider that. I've read they can make your horse sore due to weight distribution? I guess it depends on the individual though!
