For the kids that dare to dream, keep at it. You DONT need a $14K weanling or a $40K futurity star to make the big leagues.

Congrats to Tracy Nowlin!

Don't forget though Tracy is a hell of a hand and could take a sale barn goat and make it win your local jackpot in a few months.

This trip to Vegas has been a long time coming for her! Go get'em Tracy!!!

While Dolly Jo might have been cheap to buy, she is still pretty well bred. It isn’t like Royal Blue Chew Chew is a backyard puke stud. He was a pretty nice racehorse and then he went to Brazil after a few years of standing here.

Congrats to Tracy Nowlin and her hard knocking mare!

And to think, she was almost a tie-down horse. :)  That mare has been kicking butt since about 2 weeks after she started her on the barrels. She's my favy!!

This makes my day.  I saw him at the BFA shortly before he passed.  There was something so special about him.  Best bucket of chicken anyone ever sacrificed.

True story related to me by Tracy. A couple of years ago, she was offered quite a bit for Dolly.
"We called a family meet around the kitchen table. I was looking for a sign on what to do as it was a pretty good chunk".
Grand Dad says "Hell, we've always been poor-why change now"?
One of Tracy's favorite sayings: "See, God does take care of stupid people".
Those TV and radio folks are going to enjoy interviewing Tracy in LV.

Tracy is as genuine a there is, her interviews will be as real as it gets.  I can't think of anyone that deserves to be there more then her.  Kind of like Elvis's song "I did it my way"
She did this the old fashion way, just her and her family and a single horse.  No big sponsors paying her way.  Look out Thomas and Mack, they mean business

Amen!!

She didn't go out and try to get larry mo and curly to sponsor her. She doesn't hasttag fb posts thinking a mile long list of people or products. She let her mare do the talking!!

All great barrel horses start off with the price of a breeding and many of those stud fees are pretty reasonable.

I finally looked at Dolly Jo’s pedigree. I knew she was by Royal Blue Chew Chew, but I didn’t know what the maternal side was. That mare is bred out the A$$!!! Her entire pedigree is full of barrel horse sires. Sixarun, BA75, Jet Smooth, etc.

I love this gal and her mighty little mare! I cannot wait to see more of them in Vegas, I was happy for her last night. She can ride and knows that little mare. There were mistakes and she was still a .85... lookout!
