Race coming up next weekend and my gelding has developed a cough and a runny nose. No temperature. started Thursday night. Runny nose is mostly clear (with a very occasional (like twice) pale yellow mucus only about the size of a dime) so mostly clear water like consistently. Attitude is totally normal, still eating, drinking, peeing and pooing normally.
I haven’t gotten a vet out yet since there was no temperature.
Allergies? It is fall here and have had a number of frosts at night. Maybe something in hay??
He is 12 years and has never had a cold, flu or allergies since I got him 5 years ago.
UTD on vaccines including strangles although I know that doesn’t mean they are 100% effective
