ok, so at home I look like the Christmas Story kid when I ride, all bundle up and if I was to fall I am pretty sure I would bounced back. Nonetheless I need comfortable, not bulky but warm clothes when we go to the barrel races. What are your favorites?
oh, socks!!! nice and cozy socks too!!!!

Heated jacket and insoles. Saves me and my husband every winter. They also have pant liners, but we don't have them. The jackets we have are not bulky and the insoles have a small remote control.

We have the thermocell brand ones - they're about 100.00 and have rechargeable batteries. Worth every penny, if you ask me and they have lasted 4-5 years.

This is crazy I know...but the English riding breeches!  Fast becoming a favorite of mine.  The winter ones are fleeced lined and they have a rubber, sticky inlay on the legs.  I seriously want to run barrels in them!

You can always put jeans over them... nice and toasty and nobody knows.... Will need to be strechy jeans or maybe a bigger size... but it's possible.

We have recently started buying a brand named KUIU, it’s a hunting brand that is a little more on the expensive side but nothing of theirs is bulky and it is WARM!  My husband bought a coat a few weeks ago and it looks like it should just be a jacket yet it was wearing it in the snow this past weekend and never got cold.

Heat holder brand socks, hats, and gloves. These keep me toasty even up here in the frozen north.

Wool socks in any brand.
Fiebings or any other brand Waterproof spray for my boots and leather gloves.
A nice wool hat that fits over my ears.
And knit gloves that I can wear under my leather gloves. I wear the knit gloves while riding so they aren't so bulky and the leather gloves while working outside.

Agree. I have some Kerrits boot-cut polar fleece lined pants …. love them. They would be perfectly fine to compete in! I started out with Kerrits' fleece lined riding tights -- and still wear those, too. The best!

Usually we are in the 70's and 80s during the winter here with mostly sunshine. Not unheard of to hit 90 at Christmas, but rare. I usually exercise my horses in shorts and a T shirt.

Saying things like that will get you a lump of coal to go with your 90 degrees at Christmas! LOL I've been wearing long johns for two weeks already.
