Finding wood splinters in bags of feed. It seems to be in all the August lots coming from the McComb, MS Cargill Plant. Nutrena is telling me Beet pulp grower is saying it is the Beet Pulp heads that is getting included with the cutting of the leafs and stems this time of the year. I have my own views as to this explanation and and weather I will take the chance of my horse's gut handling or being punctured from these hard splinters. But, wondering if this is all over the US or just coming out of the MS plant. It is turning up in all the August dated lots of the Pro Force Fiber bags. Open your bags and sift through and see what you find. Interested in knowing and if there are findings please contact your feed store and Nutrena rep.
These are pics of what some of the wood like pieces we found in our bags.

Personally I wouldn't feed Nutrena product period. It is not guaranteed ionophore free and can be toxic, mortally to a horse in trace amounts. I would ask for your money back and I do hope your horses are okay.
