I purchased a Lakota trailer recently from an individual. I am new to the LQ trailer world but the hydraulic jack on my trailer doesn't work properly. The jack will work as long as it is plugged into an electrical source which is fine as long as I have one available. I did have my batteries tested and they tested ok but since it still wasn't working I just spent the extra money to buy new batteries.......and it still doesn't work. What am I missing? Is there a fuse that I should check somewhere?
I think you're saying it will work plugged into AC power.
If that's the case and it won't work any other way you have a power issue between the battery and the jack control/power unit.
The jack system is going to work on 12v DC power so you know that your inverter/converter is working so somewhere between the battery and the jack you have a break down in the wiring/switch/breaker/ something.
now that being said, I'm sure there is a circuit breaker in that system and it sould be up around the jack somewhere. It's possible taht is tripped, but depending on how it's wired, if tripped the AC plug should not work either.
Hard to diagnose soemthing like this without seeing how it's wired.

1DSOON said it correctly. I did call Lakota and they suggested that I take it to a local RV place. It is a 2014 so not sure about warranty. The issue I am having, is this something common? Everything else in the trailer has worked great.....so far.
barrelrider - 2018-11-13 2:13 PM I have had the same problem with a different brand of trailer. We replaced the inverter and it fixed the problem. I think it is common.

Trailers usually have a dial in the battery box or that area. They will have three settings...I believe one is battery power, electric power and off. Might look for that under the nose of your trailer / battery box area.

if they have one it's a batter switch only. Has nothing to do with A/C power

Thanks everyone....its been frustrating as it appears to be an issue that would best be looked at by someone that knows what to look for. As long as we have our generator or a power source we will be fine. I would like for it to just work like it is suppose to
