I just got rid of a top load (no agitator) as I didn't think it cleaned well.  Went back to my front load machine and couldn't be happier.

I got sick of replacing them for my wife. I got a SpeedQueen, there is nothing better than old school. Metal parts that hold up.

I bought a dishwasher at Lowes. All of theirs were rated as to the noise levels. I got the quietest and you really can't hear it running. Not sure if they have that feature on their washing machines, but I would check.

I have the new maytag top load with an agitator and its wonderful. Quiet and it cleans the clothes very well... I say that as a mom of young boys, one who plays football and their uniform pants are white :-/ and a truck driver hubby... I replaced a Samsung top load without an agitator that was big load capacity it was so loud and didnt clean as well. I can still wash our king bed goose down comforter in my new maytag without an issue.

I got a new GE about a year ago and I hate it.  I have no control over the load levels or the cycles.  I call it the Obamanator (Mr. Climate Change) because it was manufactured to save water and all I do is use more.  If I let it, it will fill to a level six inches below the level of where the clothes are.  I just have to keep adding to the water level.  I'd give anything to have my old Kenmore back.  It was so simple.

I called this afternoon about returning it and they said no problem and asked about noise levels but they said they didn't rate them.

I bought a new top load, HE, meaning the water only fills to about half. I HATED it, gave it away and bought a used Amana for $100 three years ago. It uses enough water to get the clothes clean. I highly recommend going old school.

Just last year I bought a top load Maytag with an agitator. I don't think it cleans as well as the old one I had but overall I am happy with it and I paid less the $500 for it.

I couldn't find anything old school. Even the new Kenmore's were oddball.  Mine does have an agitator.  If I try to wash sheets, they twist and ball up in a knot and it's a struggle to get them undone.  I've never seen anything like it.

I went from a front load to a whirlpool top load - the top of the line- HATED it.  It did not get clothes clean, the dryer had a sensor , suppose to know when the clothes were dry, more often then not it left them damp.  My daughter needed a W/D so I gave them to her- how generous of me- she lives in the city it it does fine for her because her clothes don’t get that dirty.   I read and read and decided to go back to a front load, they are suppose to get clothes cleaner and mine absolutely does.  I decided to get an Electrolux and LOVE it-$2000 for the set.  Using minimum detergent, I use pods, and leaving the washer door open to dry the machine out eliminates the mold issue some had with front load.

I hate the new washing machines, seems I have to buy a new one about every three years. The last one was a LG, after the first year it wouldn't spin, I would have to babysit it to get it to spin. Be careful on the Speed Queens, I read an article that in 2018 they changed them and they are not as good as the older models. Do your research.

Well, dang.  I did some research and it said the LG had some kind of quiet feature.  I used the Magtag again but on top of the noise factor, it leaves the clothes really wrinkled.  If I didn't dry almost everything it would be a real issue.  I might be going back to the front load.  My only issue is that I don't like leaving the door open all the time.

I might be the one of the only ones who likes their HE washer.....got a top leader without the agitator about 6 mos ago, and once I took the time to flip thru the manual, I like it. Either I'm an idiot or the thing really is that complicated. Idk.

I have a Samsung front load.  I love it.  Gets clothes really clean and uses minimal soap and fabric softener.

Call the company......they shouldn't be that loud. It may be defective.

Before I got my front load, I was warned that the high setting on the spin cycle sounded like a jet taking off.  They were right!  But there is no need to use that high setting anyway, so I make sure it is never used.
