| Alright people, please give me some suggestions on this mare? Plan A died, so now I'm looking for plan B. No cream Gene, No DTF, No FWF. Budget under $3K. She's a solid 16H. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/yellowjacit

I'm open to any suggestion. If a junior sire, a strong mother is very important. |

Location: Illinois | Guys Canyon Moon would have a strong maternal line and something I'd like to cross on a DTF bloodline. My 4 year old is FWF on bottom and out of Six Moons Bully, I like her a lot. A Sharp Frenchman would be a nice cross if there's any contracts left for next year. I have friends with some colts by him out of their FWF mare and they're fantastic |

I'm trying to stay away from yellow, since she is yellow. If he were bay I'd be all over that. |

Not proven in the barrel world, but has LTE over $200k in the cutting pen.
Are there any other lines you want to steer clear of?

I had a Cartel Feature colt and was nice. Correct, on the muscle, well balanced, with a great mind. And Darrel is great to work with. Just send him a pie! |

I know the Potters have a stallion, A Lone Drifter, who is a son of Lone Drifter out of a mare that Sherry made the NFR on. You may look at Lota PYC. He is standing at James Ranch. I am breeding one of my dinero daughters to him & my vet bred her mare to him also & looking at him as a vet, she really likes his conformation & his pedigree. He is a son of PYC Paint Your Wagon.

| First off, nice mare! She is very pretty! And well-bred!
I'd love to cross her on Paddys Irish Whiskey. It would make an awesome cow X run cross. And should have great resell value!

Another nice cow X run cross would be PG Dry Fire, I've heard good things about his babies.
Sixes Pick and Bet Hesa Cat would also be good options, in my opinion.

| Royal Shake Em
Irish Pay
Slick By Design
Streaking Boon Dox
Coronado Cartel would be powerful on her too , if you would decide to splurge a little more on the stud fee.......
The RSE’s are good property to keep or sell, and the rest are PB for added resell value.
Nice mare! |

Location: Where it isn’t cold! | There’s a stud standing here in the NW, Best Advice, that has offspring doing well in the barrel pen and on the track. He’s by Corona Cartel and out of a daughter of Bully Bullion. He stands at Cross Country Ranch, where Judge Cash stood. They’re running an NFR special right now and his stud fee is really reasonable. IMO, he’s a sleeper. Definitely have him in mind for Dora in the future. |

| I would say Coronado Cartel but 3k budget puts him outta reach for 2019. I'd figure out which stud within that price range you like the best and that is payable into as many eligible incentives as possible.
I'd probably go with Bullseye Bullion because Lanie and the Dunns are going to do an amazing job promoting him.

I was told if they stand to the public it will be to a very small number of mares and there is a list already.
For what ever that is worth. |

SNS is not all that user friendly
SBL is actually a pretty solid choice for that mare.

I agree. This would be my choice. SBL has proven himself over and over as a sire and he has already crossed well on both DTF and FWF mares. His owner is a gem and great to work with. I've got 2 SBLs coming in 2019 and breeding back to him as well. |

Of course there's others, but Bring It On Guys (out of a PIW mare) is doing pretty well for Sabra O'Quinn right now, so I wouldn't blow a Paddys Irish Whiskey off as a barrel horse. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. |

I'm more from the cutting/cowbred side, so I love that you're leaning towards PIW. Don't think you can go wrong

| Maybe Irish Pay if you like the Paddys Irish Whiskey?
Another stud I just run across that has an interesting mix of older blood is Roller and a Shaker. Sire is Bogie Biankus and dam is a daughter of Maudies Joak who is out of a daughter of Chicks Etta Deck. that's some cool old school stuff.

Location: Where I am happiest | SBL would be the most solid choice and the most marketable by far Whether to sell or to breed later on. |

| I think PIW would be a good cross on that mare, however he seems to throw foals that are a lot taller and lankier than most people realize. With as tall as your mare is, you might end up with a gorgeous looking monster of a foal.
I do think if you're planning on breeding to a PIW stallion, it would be better to go straight to the source and breed to PIW himself. Irish Pay is a nice stallion, don't get me wrong- we've looked into him for a few of our mares, but when you know what you want and the price is right, PIW all the way. I also think the PIW foals are VERY marketable, especially if you're wanting to rope on the foal- he's definitely more well known in that realm than SBL. |
