I know from personal experience that the "waiting" while your loved one is overseas is very stressful. I am so sorry for your son't loss of teammate and friend and prayers for peace in his heart!

| Thank you my friends. We are not told any specifics on the missions but I was told he is leaving or has left for a very difficult mission. So I worry and pray and worry and pray. War is sobering and we could start a whole new thread on why we should get out of Afghanistan..but for now every prayer is appreciated.
Liana I promise to get my filly this week ( she broke and educated my Stoli/Flit Bar Beggar filly) thanks for your patience with me. |

| The prayers are greatly appreciated. We are able to communicate with our son when he is at the compound but when he is out on missions we hear nothing.
We did learn he was able to meet the casket and attend the ramp ceremonies yesterday. My son and his warrior teams are rough and tough beasts and it is difficult to see them tore up. Again thanks for the prayers and please keep Dylan Elchin's family in your prayers. I may be on here alot this coming months just posting updates - it helps knowing there is support for all our service men and women. |

| The combat fatalities for Special Operations Forces equals almost 22 times that of convential units. And yet this guys busted their guts and hearts to be SOF. They are an incredible bunch of warriors. But as a country we have largely forgotten Afghanistan although our sons are still dying on Afghanistan soil. I am pretty jaded towards our leaders - all of them - both Republicans and Democrats. |

17 years of war, thousands of lives lost, thousands lives destroyed by PTSD. Keep the bases open as a safeguard but stop the missions. Why won't a single politician or general stand up to the Pentagon elite and stop the missions? |

And I would always wonder if your son was in one of these Jets or Helicopters during his training days flying over.. I would think to myself,, Hummm ,, I wonder if Gails and Daves son is on one of those's. Man how time fly's. |

Exactly, Lots of familys torn up, lives lost and lives changed, It has gone on way to long and needs to end sending our loved ones over there.. Afghanistan is ruthless and dont give a da* for our people trying to help them, I knew theres a few that do but the evil out numbers the good, Prayers for you and Dave and to all the other familys out there not knowing and being scared for their loved ones .. Prayers for our BRAVE TROOPS |

The next 3 countries have a combined total of around 25 bases around the world. I realize that ISIS got started when we practically pulled out of Iraq, but at some point they have to take charge. |

| You guys are so nice to ask me about my son.
Well...he is a pretty serious guy and we joke he joined the Military when he was 2. But seriously he is a SOF soldier and it takes most his life in extreme training and deployments. He has little chances to meet girls. He loves dogs and airplanes and he attends church by himself ( not always..lol) He bought a house in Clovis where he is based but is rarely there. What can I say - he played baseball and football but his career in Special Forces is his life. Ladies any ideas where we could find him a girlfriend? I think he would be pretty upset if he knew I was doing this but I am certain he isn't paying attention to BHW :) There has to be a barrel racer somewhere who would like to meet him. |

Knowing how cheesey this sounds, remember Diana Ross's song "Can't Hurry Love." If you remember the lyrics, whoever wrote it was very insightful.
Look at all us ole ladies admiring your son. You're just never too old.

| Thank you dear friends.
When BHW was started we were all a close family. We talked about our kids and lives ( there was no FB) Jake was 10 and I was obsessed with his baseball games ( still obsessed with baseball :) Fast foward 15 years and the boy who I protected is now protecting me. The years flew by.
I can't even begin to tell you how much your prayers mean to our family and how much all of you have meant to Dave and I throughout the years. I wish I could take back some of the decisions I have had to made on BHW but I hope in the end we all forgive each other and remain friends.
We won't hear anything for several weeks or longer as Jake left on a "difficult" mission. That is all I know but my BHW family will be first to know when he gets back to the compound. Thank you again for your prayers. |

He was a handsome teenager just starting high school already planning to be the best of the bad asses in the military. He has made us beyond proud of the fine gentleman he has become. Prayers that he comes back to base from every difficult mission, and im sure there is a very special barrel racer that will be for him once he decides to step away from the difficult missions. God Bless you Dave and Gail for your gift to our country and freedom. |

I am so very sorry - the sacrifice they make just be in the elite Special Operations is incredible. Losing these fine soldiers is a deep deep pain and loss. Our family is keeping them in our prayers.
Freedom is not free. The cost is can't be measured in dollars in sense but in blood and sacrifice. God Bless all our troops. |
