| I imagine it's also time for Rosa to start stepping to the plate and becoming a main horse, too. How old is Louie? 16 next year? |

Yes, Louie is a 2003 model.
Louie has proven he's not the fastest horse in the pen. But he's consistent and he turns amazing, which makes up for a lot of time. There's a lot of googling to be done to see what Louie's fastest time in Thomas and Mack is, but I'm 99% sure it's not in the 5s and 6s consistently. Plus they're breaking into the 4s almost every round. Rosa is a rockstar. She just needs super seasoned like Louie. |

Location: Northeast SD | She's doing what she needs to try to win the world. Rosa=round winner and Louie= average. Yes average pays well but round wins and placings are going to pay more.
Has she tipped more barrels than she probably expected? Yes, but there aren't many that have kept them up.
I would've done the same thing if I were in her shoes. |

The times are just getting faster and faster in most every event- last night if you were slower than a 4.0 in the steer wrestling, you didn't even get a check!

She may not own her, but she's been running her since 2016. She may have bought her by now, IDK. I doubt the mare lives somewhere else in the off times. BHN said Alan Woodbury owns her in an article from July 2017. |

Is the pattern exactly the same size as it was last year? (Or are the horses just getting THAT good?) |

The times have definitely been consistently faster, but there haven't been any big standouts or arena records broken like last year. The horses seem a lot quicker, even with the ground being as shifty as it appeared in the first few rounds. |

IMO the ground is getting consistently better every round AND after watching last nights round, I would rather be 4-5 down than top of the ground-its a little less solid, but still holding the horses really well!
As far as splitting the winnings-who's doing who the bigger favor?? (just throwing that out there because people tend to forget that there are deals made that we will never know about) Personnally, I would love to see her ride Prime Diamond in 1 round-he. is. amazing. (and Lisa if you're reading this, my kids still talk about meeting you in Dickinson on a daily basis) |

| I so selfishly hope to see Louie this week. But I also am understanding her choice. Rosa is fast!!!! Although she is really showing how good of a jockey Lisa is LOL. Louie and Lisa make it look so easy we forget how making it look easy is generally the hardest thing. |

If you ride someone's calf roping horse you give up 25% of your winnings. Barrel racing horses are different circumstances because the rider is generally doing the training and caring for the horse. Would be interesting to know. |

| All I know is if I owned Louie, he'd have to be too crippled to run for me not to saddle him up at the NFR! I know the other one is faster, and you have to be fast to win checks but it would be extremely hard to get off one that you are so comfortable with like Louie. I commend Lisa for sticking with Rosa. It's hard to watch some of those "greats" run past their time and are off the pace making what look like good runs. |

| I’m thinking it’s a good thing Lisa has Louie instead of people here. Maybe she’s looking out for his best interest and not just thinking about $$$. How many times has she almost lost him due to soundness issues and other things? He pretty much lived at Littleton Large Animal at one point. Louie owes her nothing at this point. I love Louie too. But I love it even more that Lisa tries to do right by him. |

She decided to run Rosa, said she deserved her turn, she is faster. I bet we might see Louie tonight, she is really having to work to keep her from hitting.
I think it was the 4th round when Lisa really had to handle her to get around the first, then again at the second just because her angle was a bit off. I turned to my husband and said THAT is a broke horse...Lisa asked for a step and she easily and willingly complied.
Hubby has been a Louie fan forever, now he's just a Lisa fan after seeing her on more horses.

| I've been SOOOOO impressed with her jockeying this year. I know she is a phenomenal hand, because she has always made it look so easy and smooth in the past. That's a whole lot harder to do than it looks. But this year, she has shown such timing and feel in the corrections that she has had to make. Super impressive. And when she gets Rosa as solid as Louie......oh my. They are in trouble! |

They are my "ideal" of what and how I want my horse to travel thru the pattern and OMG, if I could ride a fraction of a fraction of how well Lisa rides I'd be beyond thrilled! If anyone ever thought that she just sits and lets Louie do his job we obviously got a refresher of how good a true rider she is other night on Rosa. Rode the hair off!!! Without spurring and whipping, just flat RODE!!!
