The dam is a liver chestnut (daughter of DTF) and the sire is Slick by Design.
ETA: He was not born with the black spot. It just appeared recently. He is 7 months old.

Depending on your mare's Agouti status, you have a chance at sorrel/chestnut, black and bay. If the mare is aa for agouti then a 50/50 between sorrel and black, if she is AA then a 50/50 between bay and sorrel, and if Aa then you could get any of the 3.

My best friends filly did that a couple months after she was born. Both parents are bay. Born sorrel then started to get the black points on the legs, muzzle turned black, all the area around her eyes turned black. Stayed like that for a couple months and now she's all sorrel, no black or dark anywhere. We all thought she was going to change, but nope. I think yours is going to stay sorrel too
