Location: Southeast Louisiana | I’m just not enjoying it as much. I record it and pretty much fast forward straight to the barrel racing.
I do stop for the bull dogging, tho. CBS can keep Luke Branquinho... He does a good job and makes it interesting. Only thing that would make it better is to add K.C. Jones! (swoon) |

From what I understand even having the barrel race at the NFR is a courtesy from the PRCA and not even required. So maybe they skip it in the preview show to focus on the PRCA stuff? |

Location: Sweet Home Alabama | I love Joe Beaver, but I kinda wish Fallon Taylor were commentating the barrels. She made the American so exciting. And I like how she would give a backstory on the horse and rider. I haven’t followed it much this year so a lot of these girls are new to me. But I think it’s freakin awesome that Tracy Nowlin bought her mare for $1,800!!!! Love those kind of stories |

| The Cowboy Channel does a pretty neat pre show if you get it. We watched it the other night and have it set to record now. |

Location: Kansas | Feel fortunate that you even get to watch the barrel race in its entirety. I'll bet a lot of the folks on here can remember when they would show commercials or interview cowboys while the barrel race was going on. You were lucky if you got to watch five or six. I stayed up until midnight one time waiting to watch the barrel race. They were interviewing winners from other events and you could hear the commentator in the background, but in the end they didn't show even one barrel racer. Just gave us the results.

Well the Las Vegas review doesn’t even give the results. Don’t matter that place 1 &2 for the truck are racers |

I remember! They would only show rounds 8,9 and 10 and if Fred, Cody or Joe won the calf roping you knew you were missing at least the first few barrel racers. |

| I'm glad I'm not the only one finding the NFR boring this year (except the barrel racing). Agree the commentators are terrible to listen to, with the exception of Joe Beaver, he's always good, I miss Donnie Gay too. I've been falling asleep thru most of it, waking up to catch a little of the tie down roping, all the barrels and some of the bull riding, I finally turned that off last night, was done with the bull riders being so full of themselves when they actually stay on for 8 seconds; Bronc riders are so much more humble.
I hate they cut off the interview with barrel racers to go to someone riding bulls, when they don't do that to any other round winners. I do remember when they used to do commercials etc. while the barrels were going on, so I do appreciate they show it!

Location: South Dakota | Between RFD, The Cowboy Channel. and Ride TV, there is good coverage in the afternoon. Agree it would be nice to have a knowledgeable barrel racer with good communication skills to do commentary for the barrels. Fallon Taylor, Danyelle Campbell, Michelle McCloud,Jackie Jatzlau are several that come to mind. |

Home grown, home raised, home trained!!! Out of her HS rodeo mare <3 And the young lady is sweet and humble as you can find anywhere. After they won last year they had a benefit dinner in her and Sister's honor as a fund raiser for signs for the small town . I got up there and it was packed as you can imagine, made my way thru, watched video's and said hello to her mom and dad but the line to talk to Nellie was around the corner and out the door. I bought a drink, watched more video and donated a little and went ahead and went home. 3 weeks later at Cattlemen's dinner Nellie tapped me on the shoulder to apologize for not getting to say hello the night of the fund raiser. My fiance was star struck to say the least, LOL!!! |

I honestly think that's just the difference between women and men. Guys are used to being ribbed by other guys, they don't get as bent ouf of shape as much as us girls do
I think the coverage has been good this year. I don't miss Donnie Gay at all, he's always grated on my nerves. There's been so much pre- and post-show coverge on other channels and online that I don't expect to get all the nice stories during the telecast. In fact I'd rather not, we used to see less of the barrel racers when they did! It's been exciting to see the super fast times and amazing horses every night. I remember when a low 14 was a money winner there.

Location: mi | I just wish they would do what RFDTV used to do and air the previous nights go during normal waking hours. I am east and can not stay up all night to watch live. I have the channel but no way to record to watch later so I am stuck searching for illegal videos the next morning. Boy do I appreciate the girls that tape the barrels for us. |

Location: Oklahoma City OK | Hmmm- seems I heard Joe and Suzanne talk about Barrel Racing in the pre-show - but I'm getting mixed up whether I'm watching a pre-recorded perf or the current one...sleep deprived. Love Joe Beaver and he has sensible commentary re: all the events he covers. I would like to hear more definition about the rule infractions that cause no times...esp. in the roping events. Love that Jeff Medders made up his own word about strategy - I think I heard STRATEGERY or something like that. Love their mostly good ol boy commentary though I started counting the number of times I heard ABSOLUTELY from, I think, Steven Peebles. Come up with another word please. I can't say I miss Donnie Gay's whiny twang - his voice is like fingernails on a chalk board to me, though his commentary was always colorful. I'm grateful for the coverage!! |

| Am I the only one that enjoys watching on TV better than in person? For some reason I don't like the annoucers very much at the NFR. Ive been to circuit rodeos where the annoucers hyped up the audience more. The ones at the NFR seem kind of monotoned and just not as lively. Just my opinion. I enjoy it better listening to Butch and the Bev.

Totally agree about more explanation for the infractions---I got a touch confused about Shane's no time in the tie down the other night til someone finally said he had backed up after riding forward to keep the calf from getting up. I believe that's what they said anyway! I may still be confused |

I don't care for the announcers here at the T&M but I hate missing so much action on TV. The grand entry is cool. And my favorite part if watching the calf roping and steer wrestling is really watching the horse. The TV camera guys zoom in on the tie so much you can't see the horse work at all. And I love watching the steer wrestling horse do their antics. Only downfall to being here live is you don't get a good view of the barrel horses in the alley. |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I used the wrong term. I haven’t actually been watching the preview show or pre-show, I saw tonight that it’s a different show that comes on right before the NFR coverage. I was talking about the actual broadcast, where they talk about each event. They were skipping over barrels. Finally mentioned it tonight, but it was in reference to the Top Gun award, since the top two right now are barrel racers. |

Location: Northeast SD | Some of the shots the camera operators are taking like zooming in on the tie and not showing the horse stopping in calf roping is due to them not wanting to show the calf possibly being jerked back etc. due to PETA issues and all that. |

Location: TN | The ProRodeoLive commentary with Jolee Lauteret (sp) is great in my opinion. She is very knowledgable about the contestants and their horses giving a little background information on each during the runs when she can. I haven't heard her say anything even remotely negative about them or the horses other than "he shouldered, shut down, etc.". She's been giving lots of praise to Tammy for helping Taci, and really sounds disappointed for Kelly when her horse runs up the fence. She does a great job with the other events as well. Wish they had her as one of the tv announcers. |
