Between the two locations, which is a better place for horses? Need a short term rental and place for 2 horses. Staying in my trailer is an option. Looking at a 3 month stay. Thanks in advance for any advice available

I think either place would be about the same since they are both coastal towns/areas.. CC would be my pick since I'm from south Texas but then I bet Beaumont would be prettier since its more in east Texas, CC could be pretty ugly with nothing much to see are do, Beaumont would be a pettier place to visit since I like new things to see.  So its a coin toss for me if I were to have to pick..

Well, not much barrel racing at all around CC. Usually at least 1 2/2 hour drive one way. Good thing about VC is in the summer we usually have a decent breeze to help somewhat with the high heat and humidity. Traffic is not bad compared to Houston area. Also when we lived Houston MANY years ago, there was not much wind so it was miserable in the summer. My mom says she loves ALL of Texas, but her least favorite was the Houston area. Many not because of traffic and the stagnant summer heat with very little breeze.

I grew up outside Beaumont and lived in the area for 30 years. Moved to the Dallas area last year.
The Beaumont area, depending on where you go, has some really amazing people. Doesn't take much to feed one down there if theres pasture. The barrel races aren't as plentiful but there are races. Kinder has a big one every year, you can also haul around Houston too for races. There are a few a month in Orange. I know a lot of people there. So while my first suggestion would be run from that area, I think for horses it may be better then CC. Plus I know the horse people there are pretty awesome. I wish they were as friendly up here as they are down there. Good luck wherever you choose.
