Earlier this year I made a BoT purchase and got a free bag of Rosehip as a promo. I tossed it in my tack locker at the time, but recently am taking a second look at it. Has anybody used this as an anti-inflammatory? The info on the bag made it sound like a general "feel good" supplement, but now I am reading up on how it may actually help with inflammation. My horse has PSSM and seems to suffer from all over body aches in the colder months. Looking for an alternative to Devil's Claw. Prescription Equioxx didn't seem to help her much. A low daily dose of bute seems to be the best, but the vet is reluctant to give it to us long term because of the ulcer risk.

I too received a free bag from BOT. Did not notice a difference when feeding it...but I was feeding it to a younger mare, not one that was expressing any specific reason to feed it.

I use cbd from hemp pellets. (Plantacea brand) and also nrf2 both are natural and have great results. Nrf2 is used for a lot of inflammation and pain issues and is way cheaper than most joint and pain supplements not sure if you saw it but there was a fb video showing what some of the nfr girls feed and Carman Pozzobon uses it too it is a rapidly growing product because of all the positive testimonials out there on it. Cbd is also great and I can vouch for both as I use both on myself and my horses... msg me if you want me to add you to some fb groups on it you can read more and make your own mind up on it!

Tumeric and ginger root are antiflamatory . Aspirin is easier on the stomach than bute is so if you were to alternate them it would be easier on your horse. Rosehip is awesome but I think it work more on strengthening the lungs and cartledge.if you haven't already join ECIR group on facebook. They can help you get your horse straighten out or at least manageable. I would keep him on a probiotics /prebiotic, so not to damage his stomach.
