I few weeks ago I had to have my childhood dog that was 19 pts after he started having seizures that wouldn’t stop and then a suspected stroke. My mom called this morning and said I needed to come see about my other one that’s 15. She’s lost the use of her back legs. She has no feeling in them or her tail. We’re now having to make the choice to have her pts. I’ve been so tore up over loosing the first one and now this one. I have other young dogs. Don’t get my wrong I love my dogs but I’m really beginning to wonder if it’s worth it.

I'm sorry.  It sucks, it is part of having animals, but it still sucks.  I lost 3 horses in 2018, so I can relate.

We lost all 3 of our indoor kitties in 2018. First was Heru, our last Bengal cat. I knew he was going downhill all year so tho it was very sad it wasn't unexpected that we lost him in June. Then in late October our tuxedo boy Smooch went from fine on Thursday to gone on Tuesday. And on his heels was our 23yo tiny cat Nimue. We thought Nimue was going to live forever, but she seized one night in mid-November and we had to end her suffering.

Sucks.

while it can be very painful and traumatic to make the call. You also have to temper that with and take some solice in the fact that you were blessed with them for 15+ years. That's a long time for pups

At one time,I had three labs. They were all related to each other. They lived long healthy lives into their teens. Our Rebels hips were giving out,and our Coles heart was failing. But our ruger seemed to be holding strong. We had a vet come to our house to lay Rebel and Cole to rest on a Wednesday. On Friday,Rugar was so sick he couldn't walk.By the next day he had to be put to rest.It was DEVISTATING AND HORRIBLY QUIET IN OUR HOME.I would always remember the love and understanding from these pups. The pain is unbearable at first, but the love they give us is worth a million good byes.I know I will NEVER be without the comfort of a dog (or five,or six ) I'm very sorry for your heartbreak.

I am so very sorry. And it does suck. But the love they give us is worth the pain of letting them go. Praying for your hurting heart

Last year we had to make a decision on my dog. So the morning that they put her down, my other dog died in his sleep. That was a ****ty day too.

Sorry this is happening to you.

So sorry for your loss.    I had to have my sweet little schnauzer put down last year.  Totally unexpected. One of the worst days of my life.  I cried un-controllably for days (and I still do on some days).  Losing her hurt so bad, I didn't know if I could ever get another dog and love it as much.  A friend told me 'there are so many animals out there that need someone to love them.  You would honor your sweet Schnauzer by getting another dog and loving it just as much'.
