I had posted about my mare "collapsing" when I did her stetching excersises. Preliminary x-rays show arthritis in the shoulder point. I am getting additional films/exams done this Friday with more capable equipment as we suspect there is additional arthritis in the spine/wither area. Vets are suspecting an old injury that is just starting to show its ugly head. Anyone have any experience with this? I am prepared to retire her, if injections cant make her comfortable to run but I am not haveing much luck finding any case studies/research on this. My daughter was just starting to use her for a rope horse so we are evaluating her future as we gather more information. TIA!

No experience but I've been told osphos helps with arthritis. I also second checking out feet. I've heard navicular is often misdiagnosed as shoulder pain.

Shoulder bursas can be injected. I would make sure that she wasn’t sore in her feet. A lot of times, shoulder soreness is a symptom of foot soreness.
Totally agree here! so have them feet xrayed as well if you haven't... and I would cut back as much as you can on Starches and Sugars in feed... all that leads to inflammation as well...
